Looks better in the flesh than in their pics
Jump to: Newest in thread
We often hear people moaning about how someone they met turned out to look worse or even nothing like what they did in their pics. Anyone ever suffer from the opposite to that?
I'm currently trying to take a face pic which vaguely resembles what I actually look like. What I see in the mirror is not what I'm seeing in the photo though. It's not going well. Something to do with the angle I think. Anyway...
Anyone else ever feel they look better in the flesh than in their pics? Or have you ever met someone who turned out to look better in the flesh than they did in their photos? |

Yes, I'm as photogenic as a dog crap but I always think at least people won't be disappointed when we meet and it's quite nice to see their slightly surprised expression. I have attemped to apologise when sending face pictures and normally send a couple to give a better idea.
A few of my meets have been with people who when photographed look meh but in reality are very attractive. Although that may be down to personality clouding my opinion of them. |

Loads of men are crap at taking photos so I've met a few who looked better in the flesh. For everyone else, there are always things in their face and smile and movement that the camera can't capture anyway, so no one has ever left me disappointed. |

I think everyone can be photogenic in my opinion.
I love taking pictures, especially face ones and I have realised that the best facial picture I took of people was when they were natural, either laughing or talking to someone... but not directly posing towards the camera.
But then again, even if I thought the pictures were beautiful, they always had something to say, but aren't we our worst critics? |

i've had veries (yes, more than one) telling me i do, they upset me a bit tbh, like why would someone want to meet me if they thought i am ugly.
most people do look better than their pics though, i've found. |

"Some people are naturally photogenic and others definitely look better in the flesh.
Some people are certainly naturally photogenic. Especially when it comes to face pics. I'm slightly jealous."
Yep. . This is why I do t like sending my mug to anyone. |

I've been told a few times I look better in the flesh. Me and camera's have a love hate relationship we love to hate each other. The only time I take a good picture is when I don't know it's being taken. Oh well shit happens |

I have to admit, you do take a good face pic I just can't do that. It never looks quite right. |

I've played with a few people in clubs and then gone on here to leave a veri and thought "wow, your pics are shit". Some people really do not photograph well but in reality are gorgeous. In some cases I would have turned them down based on their pics but fancied the pants off them in real life. |

Gosh yes totally! I hate being caught laughing in a pic cos I've got a Madonna gap and my teeth are a bit bucked due to sucking my thumb all my life. I take a gazillion pics n then choose the ones I like the best. Xxx |

I look better in the flesh! All my friends look at pictures of us on a night out or whatever and they're like what the fuck are you doing with your face! Doesn't help that my face isn't symetrical and I've got a lazy right eye thanks to a fractured eye socket and having pins in my jaw to reset it. Also have a 2 inch scar over my left eye and have broken my nose 8 times, so yeah camera catches all that but in the flesh and when I'm moving about, you don't really notice. |

I'm just so pleased we don't still use film in cameras! Like most we take loads but upload few.
Some look better in the flesh, dunno whether we do or not, though our meet Saturday certainly did, turned heads in more ways than one

Yes, people with lively animated personalities don't come across well in stills. I cannot 'pose' to save my life, only pics I like of me are caught unawares. |

I'm with you OP, hate pretty much all of my face pics, and don't think they are a true refleection of me at all. The best ones of me are always the ones when I'm not posing for them and am caught off guard, which I know is a little difficult to do when taking pics of yourself!!
Either way you have my sympathies as can relate to everything you say totally. |

"I have mostly met guys who look better in the flesh than they do in their photographs; some postively looked like axe-murderers but were quite good-looking when I met them in a club
Maybe they just hide their axe-murderering well "
I have found the opposite to be true...
been sent pics and thought 'yeah, not bad' only to meet them and have to look behind them wondering where the dude from the pics was |

That did happen to me but only the once, thankfully
What does happen to me quite frequently is that they shrink by a few inches overnight. A 6' guy shrinks to 5'10" and I do notice it. Maybe it is out of the fear of meeting me |

i met a 5ft 10 guy who was more like 6ft 5 or 6. i even asked him why he had 5ft 10 on his profile and he insisted he was that height. |

complete denial. my average meet used to be 6ft 4 and he was taller than them. had to bend down quite a bit to kiss me goodbye. was kind of cute i suppose, that he didn't realise the pulling power of the taller guy. |

I've been told I look better facially in the flesh same as the majority of people I've met also do.
I'm quite animated which doesn't come across in a photo. I can't seem to work out what to do with my mouth, hence the wonky smile |

I *think* I pretty much look like my pics, although I guess that would be better for someone who has met me to decide.
But I've met quite a few guys now whose faces in person look far better than their pics. Our very first meet off fab was like that. When I nicely pointed that out to him and mentioned that he might get more meets with a better face pic, he said he would leave it as it was and let people be pleasantly surprised when they meet him (weird strategy if you ask me...). |

I don't think there is more then 20/30 facial pictures of me going back to my youth, I have never been one to take or liked them taken, I look basically the same in pictures as in real life,
But you have to look at me at various angles until you find a decent look then remove the bad images from your memory |

I've not had any complaints (yet). My height tends to distract folk from my face anyway initially.
The two men i have met on here looked like their face pics, although they were sexier in the flesh.
