Buy psyllium husk from holland Barrett if you need it today or buy it online for cheaper if you can wait a day or two. Either the capsules or the powder to mix in a drink. They'll keep you regular and help with bowel movements. |

i take a hideous amount of codeine which causes this- senna alone for me is too harsh and gives me terrible cramps - the gentler options are better - lactulose if you have it in is good too but i hate the stuff- fruit juices ad i take a herbal colon cleanse tablet each day - all helps a bit - |

When any of our patients had a real bout of constipation we gave them 4oz of warm prune juice mixed with a dose of milk of mag.
If that doesn't work, then you know you need to get help asap as you've most certainly gone past constipation.
Obvioudly try and stay on the regimen of a healthy digestive system - water, fiber, exercise

My mum suffers due to all the medication she is on. She has stuff from the docs to "soften" things, and eats oranges. Two oranges a night usually.
Plays havoc with blood sugar though so not good if you're a diabetic.
Prunes help too if soaked overnight and put on breakfast.
Apple juice is also supposed to work. |

Make sure you've had enough water throughout the day & drink some prune juice.
If it's persisting than I would suggest adding more fibre to your diet.
If nothing works in a few days pop to the pharmacist/ GP. |
