Must says though I've posted ok theses forums for around 5 years now. I post on all sorts of threads and I don't use them for "validation" or to build my confidence BUT the bbw chat threads have boosted me because I've chatted with other stunning women who don't give a flying wotsit about what others think of them, they have encouraged me to think of myself in far better terms than I previously thought, Christ I even got my arse out for a while and I never do that!! Its been a little safe haven without the usual "overweight isn't sexy", "just because your big doesn't make you beautiful" sort of stuff, I'm very aware of this and I'm sure all the others that have been using the chat know that too.

Everyone likes something different and there just happens to be a thread to identify us with wobbly parts that others might like.

We happily was doing our own thing in another part of the forum up to about thread 30, Until ruggers requested we move to lounge, it's only since moving we seem to have caused a bit of a stir, believe me it wasn't our intention, but we expected to cop a lil crap once it happened

To answer your points properly...

The OP clearly did take issue with those threads as she felt the need to make this one. I think she said she was feeling left out.

Secondly, I didn't post in the BBW thread and I don't class myself as one because I don't like the term, personally.

Lastly, I used the all-black drama group as an example of when people got all heated up about feeling left out when they didn't realise why that group was made in the first place - because of the huge amount of racial discrimination that goes on.

Taking issue with is different to feeling left out. One is a negative, angry response the other an intended light hearted reflection.

Racial discrimination compared to a forum post by strangers in self depreciation? Yes, they are so alike. As one who has experienced both, let's not go down the race card - I fear it will be taking this thread to a whole new level of derailing.

And for anyone wondering, I think the other thread is fantastic for not having the usual health comments and the like. It's nice to read something so positive on here.

That's not what I said is it?? The point I'm making is one specific doesn't make someone beautiful, some big women aren't attractive, some average thin women aren't attractive, to call someone beautiful because of a body type is silly

We all bleed the same, whether we're black, white, brown or lilac with green spots!

It's a chat thread that has given people, not just the women, the confidence to shine & be who they really are!

Surely there is no-one that would take that away from someone?

We all are labelled in one form or another, it's society's way of keeping tabs on everyone.

Let's just come together as human beings & embrace who we are.....

I get the sentiment. I just feel that a thread designed specifically for those to chat who share or appreciate one specific body parameter segregates rather than embraces. Human beings aren't coming together with a thread designed to celebrate one aspect of physicality, however well-intentioned. There are many threads on here that do that, not just the one you're referring to so I haven't posted on those either. I would just rather not be defined or found sexy due to one physical aspect, I don't want to be a niche.

I don't think people realise how prevalent 'slim privilege' is. The term 'BBW' was thought up to try and raise body confidence in a world where, if you're bigger, you're not deemed as good enough.

It's like when people got their arses in their hands over an all-black drama group in London.

Oh come off it. This wasn't a BBW negative thread until it was made so by latter posters. I don't think the original posters have an issue with 'that' thread.

I could class myself as a BBW but I don't because I'm not beautiful. Not because of privilege.
