I'm only a social smoker but I have started to smoke more and more the last few months. I want to nip this in the bud now and trial an e-cig before getting rid completely.
For anyone that already uses one.. can you offer any advice... there seems to be so many. |

Best bet is visit your local vape shop and ask for advice, at least thst's what I did, they asked me what I was looking to achieve, and didn't just try and sell me the most expensive model in the shop. In fact I walked away with a fairly cheap pen type device that has now seen me off the fags for almost 8 months. |

"Cold turkey.
Day six.
Congratulations "
Thanks
I did buy a vaper thing a while back but it just made me cough. The lady in the shop was quite helpful though so it might be worth talking to one local to you. I just decided that I didn't want to swap one habit for another.
Good luck |

Don't substitute one habit for another. Will power will get you through. Believe and want to stop and you will. |

Vaping did help me ween off and quit completely. Stopped smoking October 2015. Stopped Vaping April 2016. Gradually bringing down my dosage.8 months clear now and don't miss it one bit. Honestly its the best thing you can do. I am happy to be a sponsor when things are tough because I have been there. Had the cravings and the peer pressure.I have been living in a country where cigarettes are so cheap, but wont do it. Get in touch |

Work out the nicotine content for the amount of cigarettes your smoking then choose a dose less that that. One step at a time.. You can do this!! |

i was a smoker for 30 years and over the years i tried patches, gum, cold turkey ..... on the last day of May i started to vape instead ..... six weeks later i stopped vaping ..... i found it was a doddle to be honest
me and my wife have saved the money we were spending every week and went to greece at the begining of autumn ..... canaries next week ..... another holiday booked for the end of april
you're a social smoker so you probably won't need a high strength liquid. i got a 10w vape (that's quite small) that you're able to adjust the voltage of .... this affects how strong the vapour tastes (kind of like the difference between marlboro and marlboro lights)..... from the start i found i prefered it on the lowest setting (3.5v)...... you can mix different strength liquids ie mix a 9mg with a 6 mg and you'll get a 7.5mg ..... try to avoid the sweet fruity flavours and stick to baccy flavours ..... the sweet flavours seem to keep people hooked on vaping for a lot lot longer and the whole point is to stop smoking/vaping altogether ..... don't forget, most shop owners want to keep you comming back too ... our local store doesn't stock baccy flavours less than 6mg strength even though they are freely available elsewhere .... i'm pretty sure it's so people don't give up vaping and keep handing over cash to him.
the way that things are going with idiots begining wreck things in britain it won't be too long before they start selfishly calling for a ban on it and then nobody will get the chance to use it as a method to give up so maybe best to get on it asap
good luck. |

We started on vaping 12 weeks ago, are Mrs went to a vape shop and got a lot of great advise there. The first week was a little weird as we got used to it, but we haven't touched, or even wanted, a cigarette since day 1.
We went straight onto the lowest nicotine level as well; we were 10 a day smokers, but at weekends that could go up to 20 or 30.
Feel so much better for making the switch. |

"6mg, 3mg then 0mg then quit. how many did you smoke before hand?"
I might have none for 3 or 4 days. Then maybe 2 or 3 one day then at the weekend maybe 10. |

Why don't you go and speak to your doctor or pharmacist. They will provide loads of advice on quitting for good.
My Mum smoked for years, until one day she decided to change her life. Her doctor put her on a course of Zyban tablets, which suppressed any urge to have a cigarette. Thankfully it worked a treat and she has been smoke free and her house has been stink free for ages.
I can't advise on Vaping products but if they help you get off the ciggies all power to them.
Good Luck

If you can't go cold turkey I suggest a cheap and cheerful ecig. Mine cost 5.99 from b and m bargains. The brand is 88vape. I have 2 so I know I've got a spare should I drop it or battery runs out. It works for me..I've not had a single fag since may last year. Now I know it works for me I'm considering upgrading. So many people go off and buy a kit that costs £50+ and decide after 2 days it's not for them...Waste of money!
There's also different ones too..Ones where you pull directly into the lungs and ones you pull into your mouth then inhale like a real fag..That's the type I use.
Best of luck with it. |

Avoid the fluids that contain diacetyl, a butter flavouring.
It is toxic when in a vapour former and causes popcorn lung.
This disease is well documented and there have been cases where worker's in Us popcorn factories have ended up with this disease and sued their employer.
Other than that, vaping is far better for you than smoking normal cigarettes.
Good luck with quitting. |
