I've noticed a lot more of the Neanderthal man style messages of late.
They usually only contain a few words that make no sense..
Does this tactic work?.

i don't know if it works, it's not a tactic i use. i can be straight to the point if needs be but not blunt or rude.
i've asked for meets in first messages and gotten them before now but they were all written with respect and a little thought.

Receiving a message like that would make me think, but, I would probably turn it down as my preference is to meet people with at least a little intelligence.
I have sent crap one-line messages in the past. Being autistic, my brain shuts down whenever I try to write a message to someone I want to meet. I have sat in front of a blank screen for an hour trying to think of something other than "Hi, How are you?" with no success and walked away from the computer.
It may be that the guys sending these kinds of messages are mentally challenged (best way I can phrase it) and don't know how (or can't) to compose a more acceptable message.

If it were a first message from someone I didn't know, and who didn't have a reasonable profile, I'd be reaching for the delete button regardless of gender, and have done so on the few messages of that type (all from men) that I have received.
If it were from someone I was already chatting to, it would get a response, but as I'm unable to meet spontaneously (as it says in my profile) it wouldn't maybe get the spontaneity the sender was looking for. |

I don't send explicit or crude messages. However, I think I tend to go too far with the vanilla politeness and people get a bit bored. The person I'm messaging would have to start the naughtiness because I'm rubbish at picking up signals.
If I got a 'suck you now' I would think it was too good to be true and if from a 'stranger' would think it was a 'fake'   |

I've never sent a 'fuck now?' type of message, but the amount of times a well-crafted (in my opinion) personal message is read, and either ignored or straight delete, you do begin to wonder why you bother trying too hard

To be fair to the Neanderthals, they were a very eloquent and demonstrative lot.
I think the sect of males you are referring to are those whose experience on here has led them to think that quantity has more value than quality.
Like those who rant endlessly about having messages ignored and how this is just awful, short curt messages are just part of being on this site.
Ignore them, react to them, do what you will, but if you don't value or like them, it is best to just ignore them and move on.
Better for you and saves clogging the forums up with the same shite day-in day-out.

Yeah I'm getting more and more like this. Apparently because most messages are deleted they don't feel the need to send a detailed message.

TBH, this is nothing new and is a symptom of the dichotomy that is the effort / reward dynamic.
The majority don't want one liner messages, but also reserve the right to 'Instadelete' someones (and lets assume here) message that they have put some considered thought into. Now imagine you've done this 50 times, each time you get deleted (sometimes blocked as well) and you start to slide down the slope toward shorter, quicker messages (because there is no reward to writing a longer one) and so on and so forth. Eventually, it just gets to the one liner stage.
Now, before the 'Delete and Block' brigade get out the torches and pitchforks to defend their right to do so, I'm not saying its wrong - I'm saying that perhaps (some) of the lazy messaging is, at least in part, due to this. |

I get messages like this from ladies (occasionally - probably fake) and couples (where there seems to be an expectation that I'd love to do something with/to the female half simply because I'm a man) and men.

Totally agree  And this is the perfect reason behind making this a full 'pay only' site; overnight all the fakers and time wasters would disappear, leaving only genuine people as members, which in turn would make everyone's inbox far less busy, giving all those single females and couples much more time to read well-crafted messages |

Have you ever used a site where people have to pay? I've used one in the past where men had to pay and it was absolutely riven with fakers and time wasters, as well as fake female profiles designed to extract more money from the men. There were far more fakes than on this site. If fakes and time wasters would disappear if they had to pay, then stop messages from everyone who isn't a site supporter and you'll not be troubled by them.
If I received fewer messages it still wouldn't make me fancy people I don't currently fancy. |

"TBH, this is nothing new and is a symptom of the dichotomy that is the effort / reward dynamic.
The majority don't want one liner messages, but also reserve the right to 'Instadelete' someones (and lets assume here) message that they have put some considered thought into. Now imagine you've done this 50 times, each time you get deleted (sometimes blocked as well) and you start to slide down the slope toward shorter, quicker messages (because there is no reward to writing a longer one) and so on and so forth. Eventually, it just gets to the one liner stage.
Now, before the 'Delete and Block' brigade get out the torches and pitchforks to defend their right to do so, I'm not saying its wrong - I'm saying that perhaps (some) of the lazy messaging is, at least in part, due to this.
Totally agree And this is the perfect reason behind making this a full 'pay only' site; overnight all the fakers and time wasters would disappear, leaving only genuine people as members, which in turn would make everyone's inbox far less busy, giving all those single females and couples much more time to read well-crafted messages
Have you ever used a site where people have to pay? I've used one in the past where men had to pay and it was absolutely riven with fakers and time wasters, as well as fake female profiles designed to extract more money from the men. There were far more fakes than on this site. I used a full pay site last year, and had 4 successful meets in 3 months, and still see a woman from there now. Private message me if you like, and we can see whether it was the same site?
The point I was trying to make about receiving fewer messages is, that you were more likely to give more time to genuine people, as I know how some women get to the 'sod it, bulk delete and start again' stage |

No it probably wasn't. I don't know about other women but I don't get many messages (filters) so if I don't want to reply to someone it's because I don't want to reply, regardless of what's in my inbox. It doesn't matter if they're "genuine" or not, if I can't be arsed then I can't be arsed. |

Sadly, making this a pay-only site wouldn't stop the 'fakes' - it just meas they feel they will look 'legit' because they have paid.
I bet if you did a straw poll, may users on here who have suffered at the hands of fake and timewasting profiles found that the culprits were also site members.
Ive yet to find the 'holy grail' solution - but a paywall isn't it. |
