You're not the first black person I've heard say that to me. I had a chat once with a black man from the deep south who had moved to NYC and he said he felt more uncomfortable in NYC because at least in the south he knew who was racist and who wasn't. I guess the white sheets aren't all bad.... |

I disagree that that is about despair. That is about fucking bullying and it is horrendous.
Most of the worlds problems stem from despair and a lack of equality I think. I wouldn't say that for the example you've given. Plain words and simple bullying. |

I have lived in both countries in black communities as a white person. The dynamic is very, very different. Many places in the USA are no go areas for white women in a relationship with a black man, hence not being able to visit my ex husband's family in Mississippi .... with our children. Luckily we lived in LA, so it was a different and more diverse experience. I enjoy London and LA as diverse communities. Funniest clip about the Klan is in Django .... you'll know what I mean if you have seen the film. |

A lot of people read Mein Kampf to try to understand the psychology of what would make a person do such things. Its not necessarily sinister intentions so much as to stop similar situations from ever arising again. |

Don't necessarily judge people by the books they read. I had to read some horrendous books and articles, many of them far right as part of an essay while I was at university. Does that mean I believe the things those books and articles said? Of course I don't |
