So recently I finally accepted that I was loosing the battle with hair loss and I decided to shave it all off but will it be better shaved down to the skin like vin diesel or have abit of stubble like Jason statham type of look or does it even not matter? Friends and family are 50/50 on it so just wondering what you all think, thanks |

I personally think it's your choice, thing is you could shave it all off, if you don't like that look then just let it grow to what you feel suits you the best |

I go to skin every couple of weeks, mainly because if I leave it to long I look my age! All down to personal preference.. All I can say is that you should use a bloody good blade and plenty of decent moisturizer once shaved |

I was wary about shaving my head at first but once you've done it (and I found that there was a knack to it to make sure you covered every blade) it looks way better and feels great! Good luck |

"i think most will tell you to have it how you want it.
i've shaved the side of my head, left it short though, like a bit more than stubble."
Not exactly sure I know how I want it yet it's all new to me at the moment |

i'll recommend keeping some, but short, then. i like touching hair.
i suppose some might like touching skin though, so it's all still confusing. |

Anything bets a comb over m8. I used have a wicked quiff..people used say I looked like johnny bravo and Patrick swayze, all the time ..and got a lot attention from.it , and being on scene where there that hairstyle is a big part of it , when noticed it was going thin I just shaved it all off doing so made me realise it not so important ,here's was around it ie caps or hat , looks cool
And most women are not to fussed I find too, as a lot do find it attractive as much as someone with a Barnet
i did have wig made of bum hair but it keeped blowing off .boom boom .Basil brush classic there. ..plus you know what say about bald men ,we don't get nits ..humour always helps in the battle of baldness.. Hair today gone tomorrow ..its person that counts ,all the best

not far from iceland,,,,,, tescos is nearer though :-) (near leeds) |
I've shaved my head, I prefer the look I have with a bit of hair so I go to blade 2 ...
Hair grows about a 1/4" a fortnight so it might take a month from zero to blade 2. |

Hi OP I started to lose mine at about the same age as you, I messed about with differing cuts etc but have for the last fifteen years or so gone with a No1 shave.
As said shave it, no good? It'll grow back.

It isn't always genetic, 30-40 years of wearing some form of headgear (as opposed to hats) takes its toll, you get the same affect around the knees and elbows and so on, but once the "damage" is done it's never really going to grow back properly so you're in the same boat as someone with a genetic hair loss / thinning / bald patch.
Was always minded of the hamlet advert (xxhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTHlac9vga4) so even though 99% of my hair was over 2 foot long one day I went into the hairdresser and got a #2, and do it again every 4 weeks, haven't needed a comb since, don't really care what anyone else thinks, it's quicker and easier than yul brynner and being a bloke practicality wins 99% of the time.
Beards are a good way to add 10 years to you, and they are more trouble than hair every was.
Avoid like the plague anything "designer" or anything that "looks like" anything like statham / michael (decd) / clint etc, you ain't them and you ain't on film.
=============================
Now you can go to argos and buy a trimmer for 15 quid a shear yourself and look like every other broke alcoholic ex-con out there, or you can go to the barber and get it done neatly and get the edges sorted and all the other bits you simply can't do yourself and you can end up looking quite sharp.... even if 99% of people do not consciously see the difference in the two, 99% will classify them differently, one you can wear a suit and not be "the accused" as easily as you can wear old jeans and a pully. |

I'm lucky on that the other half used to be a hairdresser so does all the tidying up after I've run a no1 over it..Agree with the beard comment too but more than 10 with me as its mostly grey now.

I've been using my trimmer aswel as saving it I don't have a problem with doing it myself I always leave it at a good finish either way and I can't grow a beard until I have a different job but il be going for it after that |

I love a bald man
Years ago I started with a number 3 and worked down. It's more about what you're comfortable with
Oh, buy a hat or ten xx |

"If you don't like the look of your receding hairline, then go full shaven - stubble will highlight it just as much."
Aye that's the only thing that bothers me about the stubble that it shows the hairline cause it's bad enough as it is and it's only gonna get worse |

"Mix it up - you're good looking and can carry a few looks off well. I'd prefer more of a Jason S look I think. "
Suppose it can't hurt trying a few of the looks |
