I'll be very sad when this news about The Queen is true. I have high respect for her, she has served her country well through hard times, thrown in at such a young age, and has had to move with the times and stay constantly strong. She is well respected from all over the world and maintains good relationships with so many other countries.

I for one, would hate to be in her shoes. She does an amazing job that most of us couldn't even begin to comprehend taking on board.

These rumours have been going round since before NYE. I'm far from a royalist but I wouldn't wish harm on an old lady. Truth is that at 90 a heavy cold that leaves you unwell for 2 weeks is very much a life threatening event

It's a sad state of affairs when folk openly rejoice and laugh about the death of the Queen or anyoneone for that matter. She didn't apply for the job and is someone's mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. How would you feel if anyone said the same about your mum? I'm not saying everyone should be a royalist supporter but there's no need to wish death.

We arnt Royalists..But we know the royal family brings in more revenue through tourism than they cost us in the civil list so..The country would be financially worse off if they wernt there..plus she has no actual say in anything so why even bother hating her she does nothing that affects us.. shame on you

She has been our queen since she was 27. She is now 90. Thats a long time to be doing any job. We have 1000s yrs of history and tradition in this country some of the best and most imterestimg history in the world. This country was once the greatest most respected country on earth with the best armed forces. Whats your problem with thatcher. Do you even know or did one of you itter realatives say something. She was a great leader with a backbone and took no messing about. We could do with her today.

I might be wrong but i am guessing this little boys problem with her stems from a certian tragic football related disaster.

I like to think the Royal family are quite pragmatic about their mortality and treat the subject with an air of honourable inevitability rather than a sense of devastating loss to the nation...

But on a family level the death of a relative will leave no less pain than what is endured by any of of us who suffer the loss of a loved one...

I like the Queen.... she has seen out her a pledge to provide life long allegiance to the nation and the crown...

There are few things more absurd in the 21st century than having to defer to people 'born above you'. You're not even supposed to touch them, they're so magically superior to you. Thanks to the Sun Mail and Telegraph it's completely taboo to offer the opinion that referring to someone as 'majesty' is absurd or that they somehow work harder than a 90yr old who has no way of financing their care costs let alone having a servent to squeeze a pea of toothpaste into their toothbrush. I can't really comprehend why people insist on being this vile, it's horrible that anyone would wish death on anyone.

I'm not particularly a fan of the royal family but when Prince George & Princess Charlotte were born, I was pleased that a family had gained new members as new babies are a delight. Likewise, I'll be saddened when the Queen does eventually pass as a family, regardless of their social standing, will be in mourning for a much loved mother, grand mother and great grandmother.

i also said that if the queen really loved her country... we don't have a bank holiday between late may and late aug.... so if she was to go the middle of july that would be perfect...

Regardless of your _iews about the royal family don't forget that she is also a mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. If it's true her loss will be felt on many levels. I for one am a staunch royalist and deeply hope that it's not.

I will be mourning the fact that many think one family is special and should be worshipped and funded to do as they please they are above the law and in many cases their historical actions are more than questionable.

I have no idea why anyone with a brain would want this to continue.

i can relate to all of those, the loss of a much loved one is hard for any family..

not a royalist per se but i have the utmost respect for her in how she has carried out her duties..

its a strange thing when people who don't personally know someone, have never been ill served by them can revel in the thought of their demise..

humanity, empathy and common decency must have been deleted from their psyche at some point ..

Yeah. I've noticed the divisiveness of the royal family before. I think its an interesting debate to have, in fact extremely pertinent to a modern constitutional monarchy. But framing the issue around a desired death with such language as has been used in this thread...how horrible. How absolutely horrible.

It's difficult to moderate this sort of thread because I think to an extent freedom of speech should be allowed.

However, there comes a time when actually any decent person just doesn't want to read stuff like this.

Regardless of your opinion on the Royals it is possible to have a discussion without the use of hateful language and without wishing anyone dead.
