Ohhh no.... It's far more fascinating than that?.
It's a star about 1500 light years away.... But it's going something very very strange |

Well it's actually been going on about 2 years now and it giant news amongst geeks,I mean scientists.
They started looking for planets by looking at for dimming in the light from the planet transiting across the star, for a humongous planet like Jupiter it's easy enough as it would block about 1% of the light, however smaller planets like earth are trickier.... But they have found about 60
The interesting thing about this star is about 20% of its light is getting blocked, that means something like a death Star is blocking it |

It's been hypothesised for awhile that a type 2 civilisation would need huge amounts of energy and to do that there'd Probably build a very very big structure close to a star to get that energy.... Big enough to block out 20% of the light emitted from it! |

And the sadist thing about it all is that its so many light years away we'd never find out,in my opinion when you look at the billions of stars in our galaxy (milky way) and then look at the millions of galaxy's in the universe with their billions of stars theres got to be one planet in the habitable zone (goldilocks zone).
Also think about the WOW signal back in the 70's. ????
Or...or....or were we just a cosmic fluke ??

At the moment the boffins are baffled... But think a "death star" is highly unlikely.

I admire your enthusiasm, but I don't think "stop being boring" is a decent enough reason to make a valid opinion of something *cough* Brexit *cough*. |

You know when you're on YouTube for too long and find you have somehow stumbled into the weird bit, that happened to me yesterday and I came across Alex Jones of Info Wars, a real right wing conspiracy nut job. He was talking about the new Alien film, the sequel to Prometheus, but he seemed to have totally missed the fact that it's a science Fiction Movie. He was talking about how "liberals" believe that intelligent aliens came to this planet and seeded it with genetic material like at the start of Prometheus He thinks that's the mainstream accepted view amongst 'liberals'! |
