I noticed in the cycling thread that there are a lot more cyclists on fab than I realised. So my question is...... what bike(s) have you got?
I currently have 2.
2017 Giant Anthem 3 mountain bike
2017 Giant TCR Advanced Disc road bike. |

I've got a Boardman Road frame that I've changed most of the factory standard fitout. The only original bit is the carbon frame itself
Picked it up cheap on eBay a few years ago so didn't mind spending on new wheels, drive, brakes, etc |

They've recently rolled out the Boris Bikes from London to a lot of different places in the country, so I've been using them. It's saving me loads of money on taxi fares |

I have a 2013 anthem 3. Great bike. Only 26 inch wheels tho. Is the 2017 still only in 650b? |

Mines a custom build using an 1990's Raleigh Pioneer frame, headstock, forks and side pull caliper brakes.
Everything else was replaced - Shimano 105 drive train with upgraded chainset to provide 52/42 (the original Raleigh chainset was only a 50/42 if I recall). New sealed unit bottom bracket replacing the worn bearing cups and axle). Lightweight aluminium wheels.
I could have bought new for less than all the parts cost me, but I know every inch of that bike and its unique! |

"I want to build my own bike. Road or MTB. Possibly an unpainted titanium frame and build it from scratch. "
There are quite a few courses out there, but they are not cheap. Saying that how many riders can say they actually built their own frame. |

I have a beat up looking old Gt aggressor 1, it really does look like a piece of crap! It's got a set of fox float forks and mainly shimano slx/xt running gear, with mavic wheels and schwabble tyre's. I went for a the stealth looking bike, looks crap but with half decent gear, try and put the scallies off nicking it.
She has a bog standard cannondale trail, she picked it purely because of the matt black paint job, I'll start on her upgrades this summer, I'll begin with new tyre's, brakes and shifters, then some decent front sus.
I've also looked at a bike build, I like the old GT aggressor XC and elite colour scheme, but unless I could get a perfect frame I wouldn't build with a 2nd hand frame.
I also like the look of the on one parkwood and 456 carbon frames. |

Probably too many!
Marin Mount Vision Pro 2004
Marin Wolf Ridge 2009
Boardman sports Hybrid 2010
Dolan l'etape carbon road bike
Holds worth LaQuelda single speed.
Also have a MEKK Potenza carbon frame that needs repairing & building into a turbo trainer bike.
Plus, thinking about treating myself to a CX/gravel bike. |

"Anyone got/had a giant tough roader?
Or
Cannondale bad boy?
I'll be getting something new this year and considering either of the above."
I have a bad boy, never found it that comfortable. The reach isn't right for me.
I also have a Voodoo Bizango 29er which is an absolutely perfect fit. It's the best fitting bike I have ever had...
Buried in the back of the shed is a British Racing Eagle racer from 1987...

I know absolutely nothing about bikes and I bow to you all who can stay upright on one for more than 2 seconds.
I just had a very childish moment where I saw the thread title
"What bike?" and in my best Kevin and Perry voice my head could come up with, produced the answer...your mum.

Im a pro bike mechanic who test rides all makes and models and types of bikes....I also delve into their "soul" while servicing them... believe me... some of the rubbish and short cuts the so called "brands" so is unbelievable... me I ride an upgraded Red T3 from B'twin and a Thompson Capella... mainly due to the build quality and factory finish of them... I ride socially and selected sportives .... great to see Swinging Cyclists.... Enjoy |

Well my son and i share a stable of bikes.
Kona scrap. Completely modernised by myself.
Kona kula supreme. Again not standard.
Kona stinky. Heavily modded for DH.
Focus Black forest lite 29. Pretty much standard.
My road bike is based on a vitus frame. 10 speed campag with campag wheels. But traffic has put me off road riding. I've had a few too many near misses. |

And since I posted that I've upgraded the Ribble. Dolan Tuono with Campag Chorus throughout which I managed to get for inside my £2k bike to work budget, just need to upgrade the askium wheelset and decide whether to sell the ribble or keep it as a winter bike |

I have a Giant Iguana Hard tail which I have had for nearly 15 years. And a Giant SCR 2.0 as my road bike.
I would love to upgrade both bikes but that would be big bucks and that money is allocated to getting my classic mini back on the road. |
