Would you tell them if it was a bloke I'd keep quiet but if it was a woman think I'd have to try and drop little hints well as long as we were not related !!!

There and to the left a bit

Nope, regardless of their gender I'd not mention it and show them the kind of respect for their privacy and discretion and I would hope they'd show me.

Best policy is block and forget you ever saw their profile.

Unless approached by them simply respect their right to anonymity and discretion

Even dropping little hints that may not (in your view) be "blatantly obvious" would not only be disrespectful, but could cause embarassment and annoyance. As I said blocking and forgetting you ever saw it would be the best policy.

Little hints ?

Creepy for a female.

Sometimes blokes should think of the effect on another before they do something.

Horny for you maybe. Bit stalkerish for the 'victim'

I guess guys try all sorts of approaches but I'm not sure that sinister/creepy is the way to go.

I'd say nothing. Respect their privacy.

Unless it's your sibling, in which case write them a verification and never look at their profile.

A guy messaged me, with a face pic attached, I know him, quite well in fact, we are in the same social circle, and I do find him very attractive but he is married. I have said nothing to him about it, and unlikely to, but I do keep dropping the word fab into conversations in the hope that it'll dawn on him.

There was a couple that we recognised immediately, at the time we hadn't found the block button Lol, we just ignored them and then they started looking at us Every 10 mins or so I think the penny dropped who we were after we set a picture to public that was obviously me, they stopped looking after that.

Another time I was here idly perving... I mean minding my own business in the forum when I noticed we had a message, it was from a couple who we know really well in the vanilla world that had recognised us, we didn't mind either of the couples knowing we were on here but not everyone is as laid back as us so I guess it depends on the individuals involved as to whether it's appropriate to mention you know each other or not.

So you'd respect a man but act like a creep to a woman?

Off the grid

I saw a couple on here ages ago that used to be our neighbours and close friends. So I sent them a wotcha doing on here - message. We had a good giggle and met up with them for our first visit to VA.

Very different approaching directly and revealing yourself, opposed to anonymously dropping little hints.

Don't drop little hints, women find it scary and intimidating. Every so often women post saying someone has been in contact saying they know them and giving random hints as to how. They're usually advised to block and keep any messages in case the police need to become involved.

This might seem a bit extreme when your intentions were honourable and you were just teasing but that isn't how many women see it.

In my opinion you're best bet is to declare yourself from the start or block.

I got messaged by a bloke who sits on the next bank of desks at work and I've known him years which was a shock and he is bloody fit always fancied him! So told him I knew him well... Asked him if he was sure he wanted to know who I was? He then guessed....

It all worked out well (not that well) and we still talk at work
