"So many to choose from! Anyone have any and can recommend please? Looking at fitbit charge 2 or garmin vivo smart + or any ideas from anyone please. "
None are particularly good for heart rate so it might be worth whittling your list down from there.
If you are interested in tracking heart rate during exercise then I'd recommend one of the Polar units like the A300 for example. This comes with the chest strap, which will give you far more accurate heart rate data. The watch also tracks steps. I'm pretty sure the older model is cheaper than most of the Charge 2. |

I had a Microsoft Band 2 - tracked steps, activities and sleep. Loved how it worked but the engineering was not up to it.
Replaced it with an Apple Watch 2. Now it has GPS and waterproof it is an option.
I also have a Garmin for the longer distance runs as I can't guarantee battery life on 'smart' devices |
