When are your Christmas decorations coming down?
Jump to: Newest in thread
My daughter hates them.. They mess with her cleanliness ocd...
Our decorations have been coming down slowly and gradually since they were put up, she doesn't think I have noticed the reduced quantity of baubles and tinsel on the tree..
So probably today if she has her way. |

I wanted to take them down yesterday as the tree has claimed a lot of space in an already full house (Our Son's physio and posture equipment takes up a lot of room, etc).
Bradley called me a Scrooge and said they're staying up until the New Year.

Funny,, i had you down as more of a 'grinch' type.. "
Hey you!! I had a full of Christmas this year, even bought a tree on Christmas eve and decorated it with 3 potentially senile old men! (and a bottle of rum), I love Christmas, especially now I am alone, because I get to share it with lots of other alone peeps....
...You know nothing Jon Snow..... (if your name was Jon Snow that would work) |

Bah Humbug to the miserable lot of you!
I've floated the idea of leaving the greenery up until Candlemas for a change.
(As well as the tree, we have twelve bunches of yew, holly and ivy each tied together with a big red ribbon, hung around the room, with garlands of ivy and tinsel strung between them.
It makes the house smell gorgeous, and brightens it up through the dreary winter days.)
I'll let you know if my plan gets approved...

Which one? The drawing-room in the west wing, or the billiard room in the north wing?
(in truth the bunches aren't very big, but the ceilings are very high. Somewhere we had a pic of Mrs ddc up the ladder putting them up...) |

"I was going to do them today then someone said it's bad luck before the 6th.
But I'd thought it was bad luck after the 6th "

"Probably Monday, the tree is starting to look a wee bit knackered. "
The double-bonus of a dining-room that is currently only 6 degrees: the tree is as good as new three weeks later, and all the cheese n cold meat can be left out on the table over most of Christmas

We usually hold out to twelfth night but am a bit fed up with it this year so tomorrow for the decs, and the tree will go when the council does the collection. |

I had the stupid idea of cleaning all my decs before putting them away. Them normally get taken down n bunged in a box until next Dec, but I thought it was time to give them a bit of a spruce up.
Oh they look great afterwards but fuck me, it is a mind numbing job |
