Are you going to get anything today and what will you get? Dont you also reckon they have it on the wrong day? The best time to have it is the day before christmas as you are doing the most shopping that time

I don't feed into it - people should have the day off to be with their families.

Bloody consumerism

I prefer to try and get things online than face the masses in the high Street going crazy over half price Christmas crackers and wrapping paper!!!....

Not meeting

We bought a tent porch & cadac online yesterday. It was Christmas money & we got bargains rather then spend it on crap that we really don't need.

I absolutely refuse to go near the shops on Boxing Day. I really feel for retail workers who have to go to work on a day that in my opinion, should be for spending with family.

Would it really hurt the retailers that much to stay closed and wait an extra day to shift all the crap that they couldn't sell earlier in the year?

I worked in retail.we got things in in July and were told they had to be held specifically for boxing day sales.they keep one or two real bargains( called loss leaders) to draw people in .the rest is all stuff they can't get rid of

In terms of profit...yes it will hurt them. That's why they're open. To sell all the bargins they could sell earlier in the year.

I agree though, places should be closed

I agree, I really feel sorry for retail workers. It's just sheer greed that people feel the need to go shopping on boxing day. I wish all shops would close from Christmas eve at 4pm through to at least the 28th.

While I totally agree, the demand means retailers will only ever make that choice if is forced on them

Serious question was the saving worth it?
