This is nothing to do with the site but I've just been having one of those deep thinking moments where you really appreciate life and everything it gives you.

Although I would never wish it on anyone, the people who have had near death experiences or been exposed to such experiences that affects them seem to have a deeper understanding of the fragility of life.

How people go by without ever stopping and feeling thankful for th blessing that is life, is beyond me.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone and may you all continue to be blessed with love, happiness and good fortune xxxx

Nice thoughts for this time of year OP as we move toward a new year. I think it is due to people only operating in their limited timeframe of now. 'What shall I have for tea tonight? Do I need to get petrol tomorrow' etc.

Widening your view to longer timeframes exposes you to the fact that the timeframe will end at some point. While it should make you thankful while you are here it is a scary thing to face so most people leave it alone.

Always takes a big event, for most, to consider it but it is usually only for a short time.

This is very true, I had an event that I suppose triggered this thinking just before Christmas. Got involved in a car accident that sent me spinning. No one was injured at the time but since I have been unable to move. The increasing pain has opened my eyes to the fact I'm lucky to even be feeling pain!

You're right, I came close to kicking the bucket earlier in the yr, it's changed my outlook on a lot of things. Although it was damn scary, it's helped me to face challenges I'd previously found daunting, and helped me shake off the small stuff that in the grand scheme of things are pretty irrelevant.

I hope that you feel better soon.x
