Told kids not to get me anything, they're coming tomorrow so no doubt they'll bring something. Son in law passed by with a chilled bottle of Baileys last night. I'd mentioned to my daughter the other half had forgotten it...again.

He drove down from Kent with that...I love that man!

Other half still asleep...doubt he's remembered it's Christmas!

Absolutely nothing! My brother never remembers, almost as if Christmas is a new concept every year!

Plus, despite me sending him and his family presents & cards each year, but if they don't arrive in time, he'll be certain to tell me!

Even after many years of getting nothing I still wish in hope he'll remember one year.... but obviously not in 2016.

That's not nice,I know you shouldn't give to receive but if he doesn't bother to get you a little gift then I'd be inclined to forget him and just buy the kid's something.

His wife does try, but brother looks after presents from the family. His son is 17 but takes after his Dad!

Birthdays are almost the same! Mine is 12 days after my brother's but he always forgets and posts my card late; the record was getting my birthday card 6 months after the due date.

He'll never change I reckon!

Do you enjoy giving them preasants though because people get pleasure out of buying gifts for people same as people like to receive them. Is it because he thinks youre wealthier than him or does he just not like you. You dont have to buy them anything, if i was you i wouldnt bother, give the money to your favourate charity instead.

I enjoy giving presents and cards. As for the wealth ratio, he earns far more than me; collectively, he and his wife earn over £120k, have a great lifestyle, houses on France and the UK, brand new cars each year, whilst I earn just £20k.

Well I've been very naughty this year and Mum still gave me cash, so she obviously isn't paying as much attention to my behaviour as Santa is. In fact that money will pay for a good night out at OurPlace4Fun in January. Doubt I'll tell her what I spent it on though.

"

Am used to getting nothing on Xmas day

The joys of being a single mum "

i buy myself things and give them to my grandma to wrap with my daughter so she has things to give to me.. she loves it

the look on her face when i open the gift is better than the reaction when she has something of her own to open

New earrings, a 'mum' necklace, some chocs, a charm bracelet, a candle set (that matches my new bedroom decor perfectly), some smelly sets (ones I can actually use and aren't allergic too which makes a change) new pjs, rose wine, prosecco, a £20 voucher for yours clothing, a scratch card that I won zilch on, £100 cash in total, ugg slippers and OH got me a pair of jimmy choos (think he had his own heel fetish in mind for that one) and he got me a weekend at a spa for me and a friend. All in all not a bad year

Some great clothes, a few albums I wanted, couple of bottles of my favourite wines, chilli chocolate and an ice crusher for cocktail making

More importantly my son loved the stuff he got as did the rest of the family

We also got a lovely stomach bug both of us. So that was good! And proof that both sets of our kids are truly remarkable and amazing, there I was almost crying that our first Christmas was ruined as neither of us could venture further than either the bed or loo after I struggled to make dinner for everyone, even my 'I hate everything' teenager was 'it's fine you just get better'.

"Told kids not to get me anything, they're coming tomorrow so no doubt they'll bring something. Son in law passed by with a chilled bottle of Baileys last night. I'd mentioned to my daughter the other half had forgotten it...again.

He drove down from Kent with that...I love that man!

Other half still asleep...doubt he's remembered it's Christmas!

Sounds like a blissfully rich relationship "

One day doesn't a relationship make.

I've been married, have kids and grandkids. My house will be like Christmases past: I'm giddy with excitement at the thought. It will be an absolute nightmare for Ben. He has no family, never married and loathes children. My kids can't stand him, but everyone will be on their best behaviour to make me happy...plus I have Baileys!!!
