My 11year old (girl) fast asleep my 13yo playing on his ps4. I'm waiting to go to bed and to do this he needs to be asleep as I need to get all the kids or presents from my neighbours. It's a nightmare, anyone else in the same boat ?

Oh and Merry Christmas (go easy I'm a newbie)

Enjoy it. It's easy to forget how precious this time is (I've worked the last 7 Christmases and don't get the chance to see my son throughout Xmas due to work and distance. He goes to his dad's from the day after he breaks up from school to the day before he goes back... please please treasure it, no matter how frustrating it can be)

Have a wonderful day. Xx

It's a lot easier when they don't believe but the magic is then lost forever.

I'm in the same boat hence being on here & watching carpool karaoke

Result !!! My daughter was no problem she was asleep at 8.30. Sat on the stairs as I type. Santa's Brandy and mince pie might get demolished in a min

how can he fall asleep when he has all those moving images to stimulate his mind?

my son who is 12 and usually has a laptop, playing games until 10, was sent to bed earlier at 9 with a book and is now fast asleep...

mind you I wrapped all his presents during the week so all I have to do is finish my wine and head up to bed

yes its tough trying to find the balance of what is 'just enough'..

i used to bow down to the pressure of facebook where it was the vast display of goods on show,, but that could be 50 really big boxes full of crap cheap stuff that she'd never use or enjoy.. plus its finding a home for it afterwards. So now ive kerbed it right back to practical things that she will use and it will last.

sadly i cant control my family and what they choose to buy for her.

I'm the same I feel awful that my son only has 3 presents but his bike was over £500 and his coat was not much less his other is a ps4 game. My daughter has much more presents but cost less. Plus they go their dad's and will get loads there too. They are lucky I work and can afford and do understand how lucky they are in relation to some children get a lot less and they are grateful.

Only 1 computer game was worth £80 and that was Street fighter 2 special edition. And I had to pay my own money for that.
