Right after coming off a rather long phone conversation with my mother who for the whole conversation was questioning me as to why I am still single after 3 years.
I said I don't know why I am single if I had the answer I'd be with someone. Now I have never thought about my relationship status as I have had some great laughs. However my dear mother made me think for about 20 mins after ohh god yes I am single... yikes |

I get a similar message from mine. I was tempted to say i can get all the cock i like without the mess of having a man around 24/7 but she wouldn't understand. I am not sure if i would want another man permanently around though after the last one.  |

Mine too and my dad is always trying to marry me off but the fact is I am having too much fun being single. And I am married to my children and I cant see how a guy will fit into my life right now. |

I used to get the same off my Mother for years since I left home in the early 70's. But it is what mothers do!
And I have lots of female friends (they are all married too -damn!), who'd love the opportunity to get their best hat out to go to my wedding! The lengths they go to to try and match make is worthy of a gold medal!
They'll be waiting for some time yet!
Look at it this way, everyone has your best interests at heart... or think they do! I believe it'd human nature. |

exactly, and to me, i dont want to waste time with someone only to find out 6 months down the line they arnt as open minded as they said, missionary stylee lights off kinda shit, time wasted although i seem to have all the time in the world at the moment...

I think society expects us to want to be in couples and when we aren't and particularly when we are honest enough to admit we don't want one and are happy that way it almost scares people.
I was singke for a couple of years and the amount of people that tried to pair me up was incredible. Interestingly many of those people now find the fact that my new g/f and I lead fairly seperate lives extremely odd. |

I have always been single and my mom didnt bat an eyelid.
I once heard to her say to my aunt.."she,s too much woman for any man to deal with" lmao.
She knew i was an independant spirit and couldnt do the "happy little housewife" thing.
Im now at an age that i dont think i will ever marry but dont feel cheated in the slightest.
It would take an extra special guy to get through my walls now anyways.

am lucky mine no i never settle down again or get married been there done it g-tshirt .if i did meet some one he would have to swing 2 but i could never live full time with a man am 2 independent .my parents no i swing so as long as am safe there fine dnt say out |

I was in a serious relationship for over 2 years, been single for 2months if that, and its great! do what I want, live on my own, planning to travel, loving single life!
People assume if your single your lonely........and its bollocks, not allways the case, last thing I want is a girlfriend, dont care if the sun shines out her ass lol |

I was married for 23 years, had four kids and was on my own for five years.
I'm seeing someone but have no desire to live with another man again. My younger sister and a couple of my single friends are on a mission to find a husband by the end of the year.
They think there's something wrong with me. If I were younger without children I might have a different view, but I'm happy with the arrangement I have now. |

After my last so-called relationship that lasted a few months, my mum now encourages me to be single, and not to be so soft and let people take advantage of me!
