Amp is short for ampersand the name for the "&"

To reinforce what has been said already, it is when you use the "&" key instead of the word "and".

The point is it only appears on some systems. I've seen "&" being used on soime sites, without the amp showing up, whilst on others, it appears!

It means the coding on the site is shite and they need to get a proper webdev in to clean it up. tsk!
