We did a photography (under water) course on holiday last week the difference between what we were taking on day one and day 6 are absolutely startling. |

I start my photography course in September and am excited about it, though its an expensive hobby, with my new camera costing £600 and the added lenses etc plus my course fee for the year. I can't wait to learn, there's loads I want to achieve and I don't have the ability or knowledge to do so at the moment. I'm hoping my creativity will be seen as a positive at least.
I also completely changed my profession 2years ago and am still taking exams in connection with that. Getting a bit worried about that though as even though I'm passing with good results, I think I've made a mistake in that I want to go back to my old profession, but my employers have invested time and money in me |

Sure you will do just fine, at least photography is an enjoyable subject. Have to agree it's very expensive though, I'm sure you can imagine the cost of an underwater housing alone - those 'underwater' cameras they sell in boots don't quite cut the mustard, indeed get to 5 metres and they tend to dissintigrate lol We now need better strobes and a range of lenses |

God I don't even want to imagine the cost of it, but if you want results then you have to do it. I agree you can get some fairly decent pics from cheaper cameras but its pot luck really and a good camera makes the difference.
I took a picture of the Empire State Building from the top of the Rockefeller Centre at night. Was a beautiful view but had to be taken through the high sheets of glass that are put there to stop the suicides. Taking the pic through glass with a flash and then obviously the amount of lights etc in New York, the pics were really blurred. Was a shame as such a beautiful view. When I learn will go back to do a retake. |
