Went out last night.
Had couple of drinks ( 3-4 brandys ) with a friend.
Busy bar. Good live band was playing so was enjoying the music. My friend left I was finishing my drink while enjoying the band so was putting down it down.I started not feeling great so left for home. I wasn't well later on.
Why would someone put something in a drink ?? Why ?? What's the attraction to having sex with someone who isn't aware ??

I had a different experience that was equally appalling. But a girl I went on 2 dates with in uni spiked me with a party drug before a night out.
I had a great time but it was completely without my consent and she thought she did me a favour but I was furious. |

As someone that has tried most drugs . The decision of how you felt , it doesn't sound like a drug , more like a bug . How do you know it was from the drink its self and not from the glass or even cash changing hands . Which is the most common way of transporting bugs . Drugs aren't cheap .its very unlikely that someone would drop a drug into your drink . Drugs make you feel good it th time of taking them , followed by a slight depression the next day . |

I was out in Worcester with a woman from fab. Went to a well known LGBT bar. Got chatting to this well unconvincing TV ( the kind that perpetuate the "cock in a frock" image. Not a nice guy.....not my previous experience of TVs either as most are fine).
However there seemed to be some history between the two of them and he was obviously keen to get into her knickers..... Spotted him slipping something slyly into her drink.....let's just say he didn't enjoy the next few minutes and his night out ended there and then. |

Seems odd to me that they would have spiked your drink then left you to go home. What was the point in that, what did they gain from it?
Sorry if that sounds harsh but I thought people spiked drinks of people they wanted to take advantage of.
I've never had it happen to me and I'm sure it's very scary when it does happen. |

Please don't take this the wrong way but I don't for a second think you were spiked speaking from experience.
Back in 2000 whilst working in Agia Napa I was spiked in a club by a well known djs mate.
A doorman/security man saw him slip something into my drink. It was the worst experience of my life everything around me became morphed and I lost a couple of days of my life.
I can't remember any of it cctv in the club was watched and in a previous drink bottle this guy opened for us he was clearly seen dropping something into my drink. The last thing I can remember from that night I felt like I was in one of
Those things we had as children the tube u twist
And see all the pretty patterns move.
I certainly didn't have the capacity to get myself home |

Happened to me. I was drinking lemonades all night because I was driving friends home. Someone must have put something in my drink because I was definitely not okay to drive.
Incredibly dangerous and stupid. |

I'd imagine that there would be a range of party-drugs and each woyld have a different effect, also dependant on the person, how much they've eaten/d*unk, their metabolism, etc.
Sounds like a horrific experience either way. |

I was spiked with rohypnol tests in hospital confirmed this.
The ironic thing if you can call it that was the guy who spiked me ended up in a bed 3 doors down from me after the doorman battered him. |

I'd maybe contact the bar and let them know what happened. It may mean that bar staff are able to be extra vigilant or keep an eye out for anyone acting suspiciously.
Feel better soon Red! |

But doesn't the stuff that the drinks are spiked with cost money.
Why waste it on a total stranger
Stupid thing to do and if their way of having a good night is to ruin someone else's then they're sick |

Because if you did it to a friend then they'd know who had done it?
And it doesn't cost that much money tbh. Less than a drink in some cases. |

As others have said, it's maybe worth contacting the bar, or even the police. There may be little that can be done but you never know.
As for why? Potentially a rapist at work, or a sick prank. |

I get a lot of crap as it is being single, standing alone at a bar for less than 5 min and this happens. Not cool. |

I had this happen to me in february while me and Mr were out. I can remember everything untill about 10pm I know who i spoke to and what about. I know my limits when it comes to drink so never drink a lot. I do remember being asked to dance by a guy while hubby was chatting to someone so i stupidly thought my drink would be safe. I remember going back to the table and chatting and finishing my drink and then went out for a ciggy with hubby, he then went to the toilet and when he got back I was gone. He found me at home under the stairs with my top ripped he could not wake me up so carried me to bed. I woke up in the morning perfectly fine then i looked in the mirror and found I had a black eye and was covered in scrapes and bruises. I still have no idea what happened or how i got home. I reported this to the bar and the police. |

I think it happened to me at a swingers club. We went there as a couple and as I was driving I only drank . Driving home it felt like I had d*unk a case load of wine, couldn't focus, eyes trying to shut, couldn't understand Amanda, couldn't concentrate and slurred speech. We pulled over and because Amanda had been drinking we slept the night in the car next morning had the worlds worst hangover. What was the point or did they get the drinks mixed up? |

There is a bug going around the country which causes sudden onset of labrynthitis. There is no way to be sure or even a little sure your drink was spiked. It sounds like you had an unpleasant experience and you deserve sympathy for that but as usual the simplest reason is often the correct one. Your symptoms sound as likely to be a bug as a drug and there is as much evidence one way as the other.
Spiking drinks is a pretty unpleasant thing done by very unpleasant people, but is thankfully very rare. However it is rather like gluten "intolerance" insofar as once people hear about it they find it easier to equate their symptoms to that as opposed to something else. In this case it allows them to apportion blame which helps people get over their experience. It doesn't mean they are right.
I appreciate what I am writing will probably be ignored or roundly shouted down as I am suggesting people take a balanced view as opposed to a reactionary one but hey ho... |

I've had this happen to me before and it's really not nice. It was stupidly my own fault to a degree as I went into the pub heavily pregnant needing a pee and cos there was signs everywhere that toilets were for customer use only I ordered a fresh orange and lemonade, was only a few old men so left drink on bar to use loo came back out and drank it. Thought it would be safe as it was only old men and not very busy. Remember walking to pub door and opening it nxt I remember I was in hospital. I was found passed out on the street was thought to be d*unk and took to hospital where tests confirmed I was sober and had been spiked with a date rape drug. Still to this day don't know what happened Once I left that bar |

I had a drink spiked a few years back luckily my friend noticed I wasn't myself and got me home safe.
I left my drink on the bar as I carried other drinks back to my table so must have been spike on the bar I was literally gone 1 minute.
Was told by the bar staff a few weeks later that someone else was spiked and got assaulted
I was so lucky |

Stoke on trent crime initiative did a night time economy thing about 10 years ago where they gave bar and door staff little card things to put on unattended drinks highlighting how easy it would of been to spike the drink.
Date rape drugs are depressingly easy to obtain. |

Alcohol being a depressant and many recreational drugs can lead to massive paranoia and anxiety.
But they ain't on about slipping some one a disco biscuit on the sly (a wholly irresponsible and down right deplorable thing to do IMHO. Or even more dangerously giving some one a tab by suprise)
What they are on about is dropping something like GBH in an unsuspecting girls drink as it will render her unconscious and leave her with no memory of events.
You know, what the sort of cunt that wants his balls cutting off in the shower of where ever he ends up doing time and getting woken up with a good old sugaring every morning, would try. |

There was a well known set up near me at one point. A group were working together. They got my friend. She had a chalk mark on the back of her shoulder. The police said they were spiking people and marking them out so after the affects of the drug had taken hold they would target that person. Usually for their money. Luckily when she suddenly looked like she had downed 10 doubles and I knew she had only had a couple I took her home and she was vomiting later on. |
