You're also in the abnormal load size so a standard flatbed isn't going to do it... The world of boating isn't a cheap one if you're doing it all ship shape and that... |

My dad has a friend who is retired and lives on a canal boat. In his spare time he transports boats. People pay him to sail their boat from one part of the country to another because it costs a fortune to transport them by road. The biggest expense is you need crane to lift the boat at either end.
If you can't sail the boat back yourself it would be worth asking at the marina if they know of anyone who can help you out with transporting it. My dad's friend tends to stick to moving boats around the Midlands because he doesn't want to be away for too long. |

Chugging along on the old Ragdoll
Rosie and Jim, Rosie and Jim
and John he steers the boat
We go and play
And have a a look
With Rosie's bag
Jim's drawing book
The world we see, through window frame
Rosie and Jim we play our game
quack
Rosie and Jim, Rosie as Jim
Finding stories everyday
Rosie and Jim, Rosie and Jim

Wow great project to do
Think its gonna be a bit of an operation to transport it though,72'is long,a length for a standard articulated vehicle is 54'2" so youll be looking at a specialist haulier with use a trombone(extendable)trailer. They will be able to advise on such things as routes for such a long load, movement permits, escort pilots etc
Maybe look at canalboat magazines for service providers

Dam...been rumbled!!!
As for OP's desire to bring the narrowboat home by water(i guess using canals)dont think there is a route for that,i know Lancaster canal is unnavigable, just south of Kendal...where they built M6 on top of it!!!
(about a mile from my home) |

"Leeds Liverpool canal.manchester shop canal Norfolk broads "
Not quiet sure that norfolk broads would figure in a journey from Currie to Cheshire
Aside to this OP...the man who created Rosie & Jim (& postman pat) John Cunliffe taught me at primary school |
