Am I allowed to tell someone to 'fuck off' in a thread?

evesham

Only in jest. I've seen lots of people tell someone to fuck off but it is clear that it is fine as part of their friendly banter. I have told people to fuck off and got a ban before. I did not do it in jest

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Context is everything , but in general - it's probably better to walk away from the keyboard instead.

Obviously this advice is easier to give than it is to take...

Its best not to, even when you get someone going all out to be anoying, just walk away from the thread, and try to stop engaging with them, because if you swear at them, its game over for 48 hours

The context would have been exasperation, but I'm glad I refrained. Not sure what I wrote in place of said expletive was better now though.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Depends how you phrase it..

The recipient might end up looking forward to the journey..

"Yes, is it to a brexit comment? lol"

Nope. It is with someone who is as stubborn as me, we've got a war of words and a difference of opinion on everything under the sun. I've yet to find any common ground with them.

The Tantric Tea Shop

When a thought/emotion is verbalised, it can then become an untruth!

You may feel better for a moment typing and posting...then ah! Should I have done that?
