You should know what they wear who ever you are buying them for....perfume is some thing very personal for women

Smell is subjective. What I like you might hate and vice versa.

I expect you'll get loads of suggestions on here for people's favourite scents but until you go and smell them for yourself it's all largely meaningless.

Go get yourself down to Boots or John Lewis and the perfume counter!

Ok I've misread. I thought this was for you. But if it's a gift for someone else then Freshsheets advice above is spot on

Daisy by Marc Jacobs. It smells divine.

Go for anything with a clean neutral subtle smell, you can't go far wrong then.

My favourite is Alien a lot of people find it over powering though so i wouldn't buy it for anybody unless you know they like it

I love prada perfumes, never taken to Marc Jacobs which is a bit of a shame as the bottles are beautiful. Jo Malone seems very popular too

Lemon by Mary Greenwell is beautiful.

It really depends on her taste. I can't stand floral or oriental perfumes as they are too strong. But the lady in question may love them.

different perfumes smell differently on different women...

if I was you OP I'd get her a voucher to get her own, or buy her something she has had before...

What kind of woman is she?

Classic or modern? Very feminine or less so? Age?

Did not realise their is so many variables to take onto account.

in her 60's, but likes to be younger, v.hippie, feminine, classic.

Go along to somewhere like Perfume Shop and tell them that. They're quite knowledgeable and will point you in the right direction. Don't fall for their upselling tricks though

Oh also give them a price you don't want to go above and its always better to buy a smaller bottle of eau de parfum than a larger one of eau de toilette because the smell lasts longer and you need to use less. Ask them if they have anything suitable that currently has a gift with purchase.

I love Chanel No 5 but I don't think it would suit the lady from the op description.

Peaky Nipples

They are so different on individuals it's almost impossible to buy unless you are getting one that they have worn before

There's many i like, but they may don't either suit me or last.

A perfume that is right for you, should be smelt by others, but not you once you've applied it

Try the testers first it would give you some idea what you might or might not like for your lady

Why not just buy one of those sample packs where you can get a voucher inside and they pick their favourite

Think there's about 8 tiny testers in there

Perfect gift
