last week I had my bi annual eyesight test and was perturbed to learn that my prescription had changed quite dramatically..so I'm long sighted and short sighted and I have astigmatisms in both eyes
however, the good news is I have a pair of fancy new designer framed varifocals and can now see clearly for the first time in a long time, and I'm looking forward to perving with clarity |

" perving in clarity may not be such a good thing though!
Guaranteed to make you blind
Some of the pics on here certainly are!
I am short sighted in one eye and long sighted in the other, and have bad astigmatism. It's time for my eye test this year and I'm not looking forward to having to break in any new lenses. I'll be bumping into everything."
I hate that when you first put them on and everything looks a bit fuzzy..and especially with varifocals trying to climb stairs is a total nightmare |

It's normal for things to look weird for a while, most opticians will advise you of an adaptation period. One piece of advice that I often give to my customers is to put their new glasses on first thing in the morning, as soon as you wake up. That way your brain is fresh and hasn't got used to looking through the old rx. Also, when you start wearing your new glasses, put the others away in a drawer and forget that you own them. Swapping between them during the adaptation period will only slow the process and may lead to you not tolerating the new rx.
Unfortunately presbyopia is inevitable and we will all need multifocal lenses as we age |

Good advice! Prevented me from falling down the stairs and breaking my neck and/or smashing my kneecaps on every piece of furniture in the house when I first got varifocals! |

Where do I get some of those 'indestructible' titanium frames at a good price? I've got a recent prescription. Just asking because you seem knowledgeable. |

Afraid nothing is indestructible. Even the super bendy and flexible frames are still breakable, I've wrecked one once!
Titanium is very lightweight and hypoallergenic, it's also very strong too. Most opticians sell titanium frames but you will pay a little more for them. |
