I have noticed a few threads that have caused one or two undesirable comments... From racism to just nastiness.

So my observations also came across an interesting fact.

It was a full moon last night and I can't help but wonder if that had an effect on people's attitudes... It is documented that there are links between the phases of the moon and behavioural issues....

Food for thought perchance??

No food for thought. Racist people are racist. It doesn't change because the moon came out.

In my life of work, we notice a marked increase in negative behaviours from young people around the time of a full moon. More in the winter than the summer...

Yes I noticed it disappeared shortly after I reported it (I assume others did too). Good job mods

Jolly old Xmas does seem to bring the worst out in people.

And I do think full moons have an affect on the forums, I've seen it before.

I'm normally against such irrational thinking but it's spooky.

Hey I didn't say anything,i was answering a question.

Don't have a pop at me just coz somebody had a pop at you.

As I said it was a term i was familiar with as a kid, not one I said I'd use today.... Just like I drove without a seatbelt back then but wouldn't today or had six pints and drove home, different days not better days.

Now where's my brew

Yes, from memory, I think it's

Middle English: from Old French lunatique, from late Latin lunaticus, from Latin luna ‘moon’ (from the belief that changes of the moon caused intermittent insanity).

So think it's acceptable to lock up 'lunatics' . Very 19th century.

Yes indeed, the term "lunatic" is derived from the Latin "lunar" which is moon. It came about because it was believed people with brain damage/learning difficulties were observed to behave differently during the moons phases.

I've also experienced this first hand during my time as a support worker.

It's real alright.

These type of creatures ate generally unverified lonely individuals who do not understand the meaning of swinging.

Unfortunately fab has become littered with said individuals. Not only are their morale compasses wrong they also send random friends requests and expect you to meet them at the drop of a hat then get pushy via you won't.

The full moon is nothing to do with it. But like your way of thinking.

However on the other side of the argument these are open public forums and as long as it's not an attack verbally through words aimed at an individual maybe they can air their toughest
