Hiding in plain sight (well a red outfit and fake beard anyways)
"The Santa doppelganger, a mechanical engineer and president of Packing Seals & Engineering in Jacksboro, was born on Saint Nicholas Day (6 December) and has played the role professionally for six years.
His wife, Sharon, also dresses up as Mrs Claus.
While some Santas have gone 30 or 40 years without ever paying a death bed visit, Mr Schmitt-Matzen said he has four times."

I think this proves he is the real deal. He understands what santa means to children, what hope he can bring in a hopeless situation. For a fleeting moment that child was Santa's no 1 elf and the fear of dying was taken away because santa was going to look after him in his workshop.
Hopefully the family will one day be able to look on that day as a happy memory knowing their child met the most amazing man. |
