Has anyone on here suffer/suffered acute pancreatitis due to gallstones?
Reason I'm asking is I had an attack back in August and got admitted to hospital and was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis.
I have no idea when they plan to remove my gallbladder as it's coming up to a year and a half having gallstones.
However with Christmas coming up I would like a alcoholic drink. Not to get pissed but 1 or 2 would be nice as my dad passed away a couple of years ago we raise a glass to him as he loved Christmas.
I've not had any alcohol for past 4 months. Don't know whether to risk it or not. |

Two and a half years I waited from diagnosis, was a real pain in more ways than one.
Only you know if you are able to have that one drink, fizzy used to cause me problems so I'd stay clear. Check any if the meds you are on say about alcohol. |

I'm not on any medication unless it's an attack which is tramadol |

I, too Googled but it's the worst thing to do with health related issues. Everyone is different. |

I was diagnosed in may this year with chronic pancreatitis, it put me on insulin but can drink in moderation if i want, luckily i am not a drinker anyway but obviously have to watch my sugar intake, probably not much help to you but it's all i got, sorry. |

This ... I had my gallbladder removed 9 years ago but can still remember the agony of attacks. I wouldn't do anything to risk that, .... hope you get your op date soon as it's awful fearing one all the time. |

i think it helps if you know what the trigger for the gallstone attacks are....
I had mine removed 5 years ago... before that i was having chronic attacks...
for some its dairy....
others its fatty foods....
others its stuff with seeds in it (strawberries, wheatmeal bread ect)

Pork is the only thing that triggers it and mcdonalds lol. Not had those since it happened. |
