On this day in 1948, the united nations adopted a universal set of human rights that apply to all of us. We honor this milestone towards creating a more free and equal world  |

Wasn't it tabled way before the referendum? Seem to remember discussing it in a lecture a couple of semesters ago. |

It might help us deport criminals when this is withdrawn. And stop criminals in the Uk claiming breach of their rights . |

Many people died in french custody because their skin were a little too dark to their liking !!

That's not the case in every country. Poland doesn't have free healthcare or education, I know my country sucks... |

You have to pay for the textbooks, they're couple of hundred zloty for each child every year. Some parents can't afford that even when buying second hand ones. |

We deport many hundreds of criminals every year. The problems occur when the government tries to circumvent the judiciary. |

Article 7 No punishment without law
Article 8 Respect for your private and family life, home and correspondence

Article 12 Right to marry and start a family
Article 14 Protection from discrimination in respect of these rights and freedoms
Protocol 1, Article 1 Right to peaceful enjoyment of your property
Protocol 1, Article 2 Right to education
Protocol 1, Article 3 Right to participate in free elections
Protocol 13, Article 1 Abolition of the death penalty |

People here assume they will always have these rights without the need to legally state them somewhere. We're already seeing erosions to freedoms of assembly and association.
Don't take your rights for granted and never assume others in the world have these rights.

You never know when you'll find yourself on the wrong side of the line because you allowed your rights to be eroded with barely a word of protest because 'it doesn't affect me'. |

Why do we need 2 then?"
We don't have two, we have The Human Rights Act (1998) that formally adopted the European Convention on Human Rights into UK law. |

Children don't have legal independent agency. We still have a duty of care to those children. If we had no duty of care we'd let the trafficked children just remain as slaves too, because they're "illegal immigrants" too.

No one is either saying or implying that these children are not humans .
However no one who has entered the UK illegally should be allowed to remain. If we were to deport them instantly the problem of educating their children would not arise .
I prefer to believe in a just and fair society and have no time for those who try to jump the queue by entering the UK illegally.
It is totally unfair to those who obey the law. What is wrong with adhering to laws . |
