"Robbie Williams "angel" reminds me of my adopted mother. God rest, most wonderful person I ever met.
Reminds me of her and yes, I fill up nearly every time
"
This for me also, my cousin played it at the funeral of his daughter - she was a cot death and only a months old. It brings back very sad memories xx |

Fields of gold by Sting, He ain't heavy he's my brother by The Hollies and Don't want to miss a thing by Aerosmith.
Play all three to me in a row and be prepared to give me copious amounts of ice cream tissues and cuddles |

The Raven Who Refused to Sing - Steven Wilson
One Last Goodbye - Anathema
Goodnight. Travel Well - The Killers
Happy - Pharrell
The first 3 for the story behind the song and the lyrics.
The last because I never want to see a coffin belonging to an 2 year old ever again. |

"Shit this threads gonna make me cry, some great songs here!
There are bud, and the world is a better place for letting us hear them."
Absolutely, it's just a shame when a beautiful song becomes the last thing you want to hear due to the poignant memories associated with them.

Freebird by lynyrd skynyrd, angels by robbie Williams and sunshine in my pocket by J.T. as was played at a recent funeral of a fellow car club member. But it's a great positive song which sums him up |

Not many crack my ice cold heart but one of the few is 'Hear You Me' by Jimmy Eat World. There's a line that goes 'I never said thank you for that/Thought I might get one more chance'
It gets me everytime. |

Here are a few for me that hit that emotional ball that I try to control and keep in check.
That internal piece of sadness, love, hope and fears.
Pearl Jam - Black
https://youtu.be/QV2iYFl5eSk
.
Tom McRae - My Vampire Heart
https://youtu.be/j0L06lrG5n0
.
Damien Rice - The Blower's Daughter
https://youtu.be/5YXVMCHG-Nk
.
But wasn't expecting a 15 minute emotional hit early on a Saturday morning. (my own fault for watching these three back to back) lol
Embrace your emotion, let your tears flow for sadness, happiness and love and use it to have a positive day.

For The Good Times by Perry Como. Played it at my mum's funeral this week and I'll never be able to listen to it again.
Time to Say Goodbye by Sarah Brightman and Andre Boccelli has the same effect ![](/icons/s/sad.gif) |

There was a song last year - can't remember who by - called 'I wasn't expecting that' about a lifetime relationship that ended in her death by (presumably) cancer.
Brought tears to my eyes every time I heard it on the radio! |

"Yesterday by the Beatles. It was my dads favourite. He would often sing it to me. Today would have been his 59th birthday.
I miss him terribly. "
Huge hugs lovely!
My dad used to sing 'what a wonderful world!' - we played it at his funeral. Still makes me cry - but now I remember all the times he made me giggle helplessly too - and that outweighs the sad stuff!
Better to have a great dad for part of your life than a shit one forever my lovely!!
Huge, huge hugs!!! |

I used to think that with my dads song that we had played at his funeral. The first time i heard it again was a few weeks later on Fathers Day of all days and I had a melt down.
But now 5 1/2 years on, I listen to it and although there is some sadness, I smile and remember him the way he'd want to be remembered.
And I'm sorry for your loss x |
