Really want to get back into gaming been a while since I've bought a new console and can't decide which one to go for. So all you gamers out there tell me what you use and what you like and dislike about it. |

Microsoft are bringing out project Scorpio this time next year and looking at the specs it's going to blow the opposition out of the water, so if you can wait another 12 months I'd go for that! |

Depends what you like, if you want to play no mans sky, or the last of us, then playstation if you like halo, then its xbox.
Personally I go with xbox, but that's because I like the controller.
Have you thought about a gaming PC? |

Possibly buy a used Xbox one, and trade it in for the Scorpio , all your games will work, and you will be used to the system, they never change it much |

That is another plus for the Scorpio. The VR has been worked on in conjunction with oculus rift too. |

Ps4 player here.
Better exclusive games on it.
(One of my faves is The Last of Us)
It's about time they updated it so we can change our gamer tag if we wish

i only use my ps2 lately. i enjoy the buzz games like rumble in the jungle, they're quite fun.
n64 used to be my console of choice before then but i hadn't really played any games for years previous to this year.
so multiplayer games for me and any console that offers that. |

Both Xbox and PlayStation are good consoles we have had them all but found that PlayStation was better for the games we play
You have to look at what games are you most interested in playing and if the games are exclusive to the consoles or not, if they are then you are better going for the one that has the most games you want to play but if they are not then go for the one which is more beneficial to your pocket.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
I had the same dilemma a few weeks back, and ended up with an Xbox.
The deciding factor was the reviews of the driving games - the Forza series seemed better than whatever the Sony specific one was (Project CARS?).
The (good) advice I got was to base the decision on the availability of games that I wanted to play, and the feel of the controller in my hand. |

If I had to get one I'd get a PS4 but my PC is more capable than it so I'm not gonna bother.
The money you spend on a PS4 and one game will get you a pretty beastie gaming machine and there's no annual subscription.
You also don't have to put up with as many kids screaming on the voip chat.
I'm currently playing Battlefield 1 at about 90FPS at 1080p, consoles can't do that.
Games are cheaper on PC, there's more customisation, patches and fixes happen faster and PC's are useful for doing other stuff. |

I was an xbox 360 person, then bought a ps4 as I play online with my adult sons and I have to say I am converted. started playing Destiny and could easily lose play for hours with realising it... |

"Have a look at what exclusives each console has and buy the one that has the ones you like.
If you play online then choose the one your mates own."
This is a very good point.. for me it really helped when I brought mine last year... I went PS4 as most of my mates had one and I preferred some of the games which where only on PS4 |

Fairly sure I read they are bringing it to PC (albeit 4 years late). |

Well I've had the original x box and a play station as well as a sega mega drive, currently have a Wii and a Nintendo DS. Have to admit I hadn't thought about a gaming PC had assumed they'd be too pricey but looks like I will need to look into them too. |

Go retro and get yourself a Commodore 64 and experience the joy of waiting half an hour to load each game by cassette accompanied of course by funky fax machine type noises. Ahhh the good old days! |

I have an Xbox, great machine apart from one thing, the bloody updates...
It does a long update about once a week, takes about 20mins.. I don't know if the PS does this? |

I have recently gone back to Xbox with a 1s console, the 4k compatibility makes it way better than the Ps4 imo and mine currently sits there gathering dust now. The new Scorpio next year will futher ram that point home that Xbox is better with it's proposed superior Vr. Found the lack of decent driving games on the Ps4 too frustrating as well which made me change back. |

ps3 and 4 do yeah. not sure if it's every week but it also takes ages when it does (my sons both have them). |

I would advise asking your friends what they are currently playing on. I got a ps4 and most of my nates have the x-box one now in thinking about switching over.
The x box one S comes 4k ready, if that makes any difference for you. |

playstation 2 crash bandicoot daughters played that all day its just getting a break now.
but the ps2 plays the ps1 games, game saves as long as the memory card is formated with the ps1 system.
I like the tomb raider and need for speed games with resident evil to play on.
nintendo ds games there roms and a card which you install games on them
pc is more like a multi media system
watch films get games and play music on them
if net able get what you want when you want at no extra cost other than the net |

PS4 is graphically better than the xbox. The inner workings are far superior than Microsoft attempts and it really shows in the console specific titles. The thing that Sony lacks is the online. Playstation does have a few good online games but to be wrote honesty xbox is king if you play online.
That's pretty much the only difference between the 2. I'm a ps4 player just because I like the controls. The xbox controls feel too chunky lol plus I don't really play online so I wanted the graphic capabilities to be the best I could get and with a true 4k ps4 its worth it ^_^ |

XBox One for me
I don't game a hell of a lot but I do like the four free games a month with the games on gold subscription.
I know PS do these too but looking at them XBox freebies always seem better |
