What is real?
Basic science tells us that the individual perception of the 'world' we 'live in' is no more than our brains interpretation of electrical pulses.
Whatever we think we see, smell, hear, taste or touch through our very limited physical senses is scientifically factually not the real 'picture' or reality of what is there.
Our brains create a hologram or illusion for us. Your version of pink might be my version of brown, the fact that we have learnt to give them the same name doesn't change that my illusion maybe completely different to yours.
So my question is, what am I having sex with and how does it percieve me?
More importantly are my feelings towards this 'other person' also being generated by my external five main senses or are they coming from somewhere else inside me?

the quantum seems like nothingness until; you experience its application or effect. when you dont know something it can seem like nothing or an all consuming everything, whichever your predilection of perception..
illusion only comes into question when you believe something should be fixed or truth, if you acknowledge you are goo and so is everything else in 'momentum' the unknown becomes less nothing and more something..   |

Buddhists have been saying that it's all an illusion for centuries... It's good to see that Science is slowly catching up!

Ordinarily and typically I would be all up for the quantum physics of the perception of the atomic and sub atomic movement of particles that shape and drive our interpretation of reality...
However, since I can't really summon the energy to even begin to input my hard earned degree to form the structure of a decent argument I am simply snorting in aghast and contemptuous despair and rolling my eyes in tired anguish and an simply going to let all the other fabsters out there take this one and I am watching from the sidelines.

I'm having sex with a living human being. I can smell what he smells of, taste what he tastes of, feel him and hear him. Nothing more. I'm guessing my brain isn't that much different to the billions of others in the world, so they would be having the same experience. However, how much they liked and were attracted to that person would alter their enjoyment. |

At the atomic scale, the atoms making up your fingers repel the atoms making up the keyboard because the electrons within each repel the like charge. As a result there is always a very small gap between you and whatever you think you are touching.
Your brain has learnt to ignore the gap.

becoming the point in the pointless, experiencing life as a creator within the creative, is one perspective of meaning..there are many others, does there need to be a point?my suggestion would be that any point , including being pointless has value and adds to the quantum being expressed here, and therefore is part of life, rather that its purpose..it is what it is would probably be more unconditional and inclusive..allowing for diversity and meaning for all participating. |

It's just a word thing, what 'physical contact' means . The sub atomic particles don't 'touch' . But 'touch' looks and means and is, so close they can't move any closer. It's not a perception thing. The cup isn't hovering.
I would agree with you if you were talking about quickly scanning a scene. Your brain does make that up, as your eyes only give it partial info. The brain fills in the gaps itself. That aspect is true. |
