I've always preferred Dolly Parton's version, it sounded far more heart felt.

Alien Ant Farm- Smooth Criminal

And most songs written by Bob Dylan, sound better by those who have covered them.

Beatles- Twist and Shout

Al Green- How do I you mend a broken heart

Soft Cell- Tainted Love

The Pogues - Dirty Old Town

Johnny Cash with Hurt and Personal Jesus are pretty stand out as well

I'd never even heard of the Mandela effect, had to Google - interesting. But despite always thinking of it as *THE*, because of the book, I still felt compelled to check my DVD copy and yes, of course, it's 'the'. I guess it's an easy mistake to make as 'a' might make more sense depending on how much importance you give to Lestat!

"Whitney - I will always love you"

This is one of those rare instances where I feel that they are kinda equal. They are both excellent in their own way. Whitney's is very powerful vocally, but Dolly Parton's has more emotion

OK, so here are a couple that I think are better than the original

"Guns 'n' Roses cover of live and let die better than the original

Sorry, I disagree on this one

And me! Sympathy for the Devil's not better than the original either."

Ah .... I'm going to be pedantic, but I didn't actually say G n R were *better* than the Stones. I merely remarked that their cover of Sympathy was pretty good. I like both versions!

Dropkick Murphys do a great version of The Who's Baba O'Reily. Similar but more rough.

Come to think of it there's loads of cover versions that are better than the original.
