aye, I only buy a big bar of fruit and nut once a month, and then it only lasts about 2 days. Difficult to get rid of those cals once they are on. |

McVities choccie bics are the only way to go, anything else is just a cheap imitation.
Beans: Heinz, nothing else will do
Ketchup: Heinz
Brown sauce: HP
Butter: Anchor
Cornflakes: Kelloggs
Tin tomatoes: Napolini
I'm a creature of habit. |

'the toffee tastes a little burnt' ? it's a quid packet of mass produced biccies. we ain't talking michelin star tastes
mind you all that fancy crap with food does my head in too. sorry but give me a plate of egg n chips any day over a huge plate 90 % of which isn't used and the 10% that is contains summat like 'quail egg with a truffle souffle and a saffron ganache' wtf is all that about ? |

Nar! give me the original jammy dodger every time, after the one essential use for my tongue, inserting it into that crumbly butter biscuit and licking at the jam, I can't think of anything better |

Has anyone tried the discount freezer shop Cold Land?
They do a lot of bogofs on their own brand stuff like:
Sticky African Wottles
Sticky Peas
6 Pack Sticky Chicken-Style Meat Lengths
Sticky Spoon Meat
and Sticky Dipping Jam |

Try Baked Wheat Discs topped with hydrogenated tomato powder.
'Mmmm Oh but Cold Land you are spoiling us.' Goes the TV ad as I remember.
Also I was up there at lunch and there is a two for one on Sticky Lasagne. |

don't get me wrong, i have dined in 'fancy' restaurants and paid £400 / £500 for a meal for 2.
can honestly say each experience has not left me wanting more.
i am a home boy at heart & just prefer well cooked 'mum' style or brasserie type food over all the pomp and ceremony of 'fine dining'
that doesn't mean i'm a meat and 2 veg type. i like cuisine from all parts of the world and will try most things.
but as for the biccies, yeah i scoff um not savour them. they're summat to enjoy with a brew not something worthy of foodie critcism
so the ones you don't want, send um on to me please |

so iso, how is 'the toffee tastes a little burnt' a foodie criticism? There was a post asking if anyone had tried them, i have eaten a packet of them today and gave an opinion. In a thread about value brands, ie cheap and cheerfull, why introduce michelin stars and how much you pay for your meals out? |

don't take things to heart our take them out of context. no offence intended in my rambles.
but am sorry a biccie is still a biccie. it gets dunked in a brew and it taste & composition gets lost from then on in
