I've had laser hair removal. (Not the same as IPL btw)

I think it's great, had 4 treatments on pubes, 3 on armpits and it's pretty effective. It does show up just how many grey hairs I have though

I haven't had anymsince August, pubes good, pits could do with another but the hair's very fine now and not obvious at all.

I say, if you've got the ££ and right hair / skin coulour combo, go for it.

Hurts like having an elastic band flicked on your skin. Doable. Fades very quickly to a warm glow.

My experiences on my face:

I had 5 treatments of IPL and it never made much difference.

Now had 6 treatments of proper laser treatment and omg my face is finally looking less manly and covered in hair- I love it

There are 'pain free' laser and IPL treatments available nowadays, something to do with cooling the skin as it heats up?? I think. They both work most effectively on dark hair against light skin, the further the contrast goes the other way,the less effective the treatment becomes. I.e,completelu in effective on fair hair.

The hair follicles are extremely resilient and may recover over time and allow regrowth of hair, many more treatments may be required.Different types of hair require different levels of treatment, adult male facial hair is much tougher than soft downy female upper lip hair.

Unfortunately, there is no real quick, easy, inexpensive, permanent, pain free way to remove unwanted hair.

What equipment did they use?

Ipl uses handset that is pressed against the skin and then flashes.

Trys to target many hairs/roots at once.

Laser is a smaller handset that pretty much sparks and is more of a focused 'zap' if you like.

Targets hair/roots more individually I found.

Hope that helps

I had it done in Mexico ( lived there for 4 years ) every 6 weeks treatment

Whole leg/s bikini zone took 10 months

The strength of the laser gets stronger with each session

Yes it burns

Yes it gets better

And totally worth it

Hairs only started growing back now

You need to top up the treatment every 3 years after wards
