Barcelone are leaving Spain earlier than planned due to the Icelandic ash cloud.
An omen perhaps?
They'll be out of sync with their plans which hopefully will continue right up until 90 minutes after kick off. |

Can't believe that's going to disrupt any plans personally.
Hope Sir Fergie is a bit more savvy this time though in selecting team tactics.
Don't think he'll make the same mistakes this though.
Come on you Reds |

Traditionally The Champions League is won by the team most capable of boring everyone else to death.
With Barcelona being the best and most exciting club side on the planet right now I'm left in no doubt Manure will win. |

Not Giggs and Park together, they both play down the left. Giggs to start, Park to come on as sub. He'll put Fletcher in midfield. |

just think it will be Barca again, Vidic and Evra will get turned rotten by Messi.
they both struggled against the sulky one when he was on form |

Giggs hasn't played on the left all season, its accepted he's a central midfielder now. Fletcher hasn't had enough comeback games. He'll start on the bench. |

Barca should win and hopefully will do. They were far too good for United when they last played them and United haven't improved since then. Messi is also far more dangerous these days operating in a more central role.
If Barca score in the first half hour they'll run United into the ground with their tippy-tappy football. |

You've had a few false dawns but I do think you've finally got a chance of doing something next season.
I hate to admit it but Dagliesh is the closest thing to Fergie your gonna get. If we get Sanchez/Sniedger and De Gea settles quickly it will be number 20 though. |

Barcelona are beatable, we beat them in 2008 over two legs in the semis, although they did outclass us a year later in the final. Fergie has their measure this time now and I'm confident we won't roll over for them like in 2009. I still stand by my 2-1 to United prediction. Whether that's in 90 minutes or 120 I'd hate to say. |

United have not played their best season, but still won the league.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Livepool, need to do do an awful lot to beat an 'over rated' team.
Arsenal did implode and tbh so did Chelsea, City rely too much on money and Liverpool concentrate to much on former glories.
Yes United lost tonight against a superb team, but at least they were there representing the English Premier League. |

Tonight showed how poor the premier league is compared to the Spanish league
Aside from messi Barcelona aren't a better side man for man but as a team head & shoulders above anything the premier league has to offer

Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Livepool, need to do do an awful lot to beat an 'over rated' team.
"
Liverpool DID beat them 3 1
Chelsea DID bear them 2 1
Arsenal DID beat them 1 0
Man City DID beat them FA cup semi!

to say that without messi Barca are not a better side than Man u means you disregard the like of Villa, Pedro and Xavi all world cup winners.
And 2 of the scorers from the CL final!
looking at the last ten minutes with Giggs and Scholes on the pitch, 2 excellent player in their day but both nearly a decade older than some of the Barca team.

Nice to see United completely outclassed by what I'd think would be the best club side in the world.
A football lesson and a victory for the beautiful game where the ball gets passed about. Great to see.
United looked out of their depth and didnt even get a corner. Old red nose looked baffled and Rooney did his usual of looking like he was about to throw a tantrum.
A great win and great for football. When are football's administrators here going to realise that you have to do it the Barcelona way. Forget hoofball and athletes ruling the game, learn a lesson from Barca and Cruyff. |

best team won
man u aint the man u that made bayern munich cry
that was a match!
but they did all they could - they did have a few feck ups - but thats no shame when you saw barca
just leagues ahead in quality they are and a marker for any team to aspire toward
im gutted for fergie but it was not to be and fergie the old man he is probably knew at the start of the champs league he didnt have the team to beat barca
changes time - and a bit of a rebuild for man u - i hope fergie sees out a few years yet and gives man u a team to rival and better barca
id love to see fergie rebuild regroup and exit on a treble and champ league winner!
im stil sure he has it left in him for a 3rd champs league
next season roll on

Those of you who know me will know I am MAn U through to my core even though I don't come from Manchester but I have to say that Barcelone were exceptional tonight. They were sublime. I watched MUFC in 1999 when they did the Treble and Barca tonight gave their fans that same feeling of invincibility that I felt in '99.
It wasn't Arsenal v Barca tonight.
It wasn't Chelsea v Barca tonight.
The best two club teams on the planet played a fantastic game of football and the best team won.
Well done Barcelona. |

I can't believe anyone is rising to the bait from a City fan! It's what they do, it's what they're used to. For decades their measure of success has been United losing in a final. It's all they've had to look forward to since Adam was a lad and a full generation of them see a United loss as their footballing high.
For the first time in most of their lives they've realised they might be able to compete at the top and go out and win something, it's confusing, they're not used to it, it's distorted they're reality. So wherever possible they will revert to type and their obsession with United.
Don't rise to the bait. Just remember whenever you come across this type, offer pity and remember 'there but for the grace of God (I mean Fergie) go i'. |

"Wallace was a bit of a wanker"
Must've been a Utd fan. Actually, local word (as in the Hillfoots region) is he was a psycho.
Sold out by his own for English gold. Now they've sold out for Hollywood gold by placing a short ugly statue of Mel Gibson at Wallace's Monument. It's shameful.
Anyway, what a difference a day makes. It was all misplaced bragging yesterday but now it's as predicted and Utd fans are backtracking to slag off City. No doubt the league will be mentioned several times this week to take away the pain of those losers' medals being hung around loser necks. Fergie quietly pumping his fists will be an image that remains with me for some time.
It should be remembered Fergie made a concerted attempt to lower the bar of what's considered Europe's Elite by trying to suggest four wins gets you there rather than the accepted five. Still not part of the elite, then. |

It was'nt 'a fantastic game of football'.
It was one sided with the losing team outplayed and having at times to resort to punting it up the pitch. Barca looked like they could have stepped up a gear, therein lies the difference.
More worryingly Manu were outthought with no plan b, without some good defending and Van der Sar it could have been an embarrasing scoreline.
Even old strawberry conk said his team were hammered, fair play for that.
Can see why if your a Man u fan (plastic or not) you may want to remember it as a fantastic game but look at the stats, not a single corner for the team who finished 9 clear of the EPL!
WTF does that say about 'our game', and is the EPL really the best in the world? The richest paid players perhaps?
To be honest no team would have stayed with them, look what they did to Real Madrid.
Am not having a dig at Man u, when this post was first put up i said Barca would have too much based on football skill, tactics etc and they did.
Does make me wonder where the game in this country is going, look how piss poor we were in SA?
