Leaving the country is our traditional thing. Mum's off tomorrow (I've got to get her to the airport from 4am - yuck!) - I fly on Saturday.

For us it's mainly spending time together with close family

...Up on the Downs

I always loved doing the horses in the morning with my ex - we'd leave everything ready so we could just throw them in when we were pissed later on!

My tradition is to spend it alone and eat steak. Which I will be doing again this year.

Omg we have soooo many

A Christmas Eve tea party, family around then new Christmas jamas and slippers and dressing gowns then watch the snowman, then tell the little people Christmas tales( made up as I go along) then pics in front of the tree( which is sweet to look back on how they have grown each year) then shout up the chimney to Santa about how good they've been( no 1 little person still does this even though he's all grown up) then cover the garden in food for rudolf and his mates, then put the carrot, milk and mince pie on the hearth, and up to bed for the small ones, then a takeaway and a glass of baileys and repeats of the royale family Christmas specials we do this the same every year Eeeek love christmas Mrs blue eyes

. You should get them all staying over and get them to do it again, it would be such a giggle, my sisters are twins of 24 and her eldest is 26, she gets them home for Christmas Eve, partners also, and they get there Christmas onesies on and still put mince pies for Santa and watch Christmas movies I hope I can get mine to do the same when they are older

Since my mum passed in 2010

I've lost the Christmas spirit

Make an effort for the grankids

But only real thing is

Christmas starts as soon as the coco cola advert appears

I alwayd volunteer but this year is the first I won't be able to. My other traditions are watching The Royal Institution Christmas lectures, eating my weight in clementines and listening to the carols. Oh and a visit to Booths to purchase amazing food and justifying it because it's Christmas.

Every year since she was born I buy my daughter a special Christmas bauble to put on the tree .

As a family Christmas Eve we put the NORAD Santa tracker up on the PC so we can see his travels. We also have a huge hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows while watching a family film .

When daughter was younger we did the leaving santas special key outside along with special reindeer food and a carrot . Then Christmas morning we'd have to check if it had been eaten before going in to the frount room to see if Santa left presents.

Love it!!!

For the last couple of years the ISS pass has doubled as seeing Santa racing across the sky.

I don't think it is visible this year though so I'm going to have to do some thinking

There is an app that gives you a rough idea of where it will appear and the route across the sky.

Just looks like a very fast moving star. First time I saw it was a bit emotional. Quite an amazing thing really
