Advice please, I don't want a forum ban but.....

Ok so here it is, I really don't want a forum ban but for the good of others and tbh the fustration with the site I may have to endure one, now I'm not one for publicly outing people but for over a week there has been a profile up with stolen pics, I know for a fact it's been reported by at least 4 other profiles and I myself have reported it on 5 seperate occasions, and yet it's still here, and it still has stolen pics

Some of the pics I recognise but can't remember profile names, some of the pics were from people on our friends lists, now the only way forward I can see is to name the pic stealer so everyone can see for themselves.

I.e check for their own pics or alert others if they recognise them, then maybe if the site is inundated even more about the said profile then it will be removed

So question, how long do you think my ban would be if I name the profile?

I love the forums I don't want to be gone to long thanks, Mrs blue eyes

Why don't you ask admin, rather than a bunch of perverts?

. Well I know this, but some of the stolen pics have been removed and yet today I have spotted new stolen pics up and still some of the original stolen pics are still in the profile, my guess is that all the pics are stolen

. Not sure how to ask admin privately how long a ban would be joe, as they don't reply to individual cases, to my knowledge

maybe they were just told to take away stolen ones - maybe just specific ones reported and admin removed - ive no idea how they go about it

just keep reporting to admin and tell all on your friends list and get them to do the same

At a guess you're probably looking between 24-72 hours timeout.

There and to the left a bit

Perhaps an interim/compromise solution would be to PM the username to anyone that posts on this thread if you think it's their pics that have been used?

Know that both myself, La Fee Verte, and our couples profile GGHerts would want to know if this was the case.

"just keep reporting to admin and tell all on your friends list and get them to do the same "

This, and ensure you put on your report that the profile is a repeat offender. Admin don't ban people outright for one or two offences, but evidence of repeat offending will hopefully make them think.

You name a profile on here and your post will be deleted immediately. Is it worth it?

There's no point in getting a ban just for warning 1% or less of fab users.

I agree with this, you could just mail those whose pics have been used

You wouldn't get a forum ban if you named them on your status - but i'm not sure what would happen

I'm not sure what benefit naming them on the forum would make? I'm not convinced it would make admin take any different course of action against them. I wouldn't waste my energy personally.

Don't do it. You'll get a ban, and the post will be removed anyway, so most people won't see the person you are naming.

I totally get your frustration but don't you be the one to suffer and the pic hunter not.

Admin are busy, but I'm sure they'll act. Pmd you too xx

I'm guessing more would see a status through local updates than ever use the forums. Plus if said pic stealer is local they'll know they've been rumbled.

If anyone has sexy photos on here you can guarantee they are all over the internet anyway. Seen lots of fab photos on a certain media sharing service.

statuses - admin can remove - and yes both together might go for a longer ban

Just something about it seems a bit like a lynch mob approach. That doesn't sit comfortably with me. That's all. Just my opinion. I'm sure you'll do what you feel is right.

Are you sure it's not a profile made by the site to bump the numbers up? Could be why it's still there?

. Yeah, maybe clem, but tbh, I only tend to nose at forum profiles, now I recognise pics but don't remember profile names they are linked too, so I'm guessing that a lot of the pics may well be forum users

O o O oo

You can get a 48 hour ban for name and shame. to do it on purpose knowing you would be banned for it could be a longer ban. If you had had bans before it could end up a perm. If you like using the forum then I would suggest sticking to the rules.

Admin can take up to 48 hours to deal with reports, sometimes longer. There is a process to go through with stolen pics that might take longer again.

Of course it may be the people have more than one profile, but when you report as you are not the one who's pics were being used don't forget to mention which profile you think they are lifted from. I will paste to the next post what Admin say they do with reports, please give them a chance to deal with things if they found it to be true.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

Admin

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

--

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******
