So as well as having hardfloorwanker upstairs, I currently have smokestoomuchcantstopcoughing next door...and today I saw a fucking rat. A fat greedy bastard rat!
It came from my neighbours garden. She has a 6ft fence and gate so I've never seen into the garden. I've never seen her bins out for collection...so I popped my phone up over the gate, took a snap, and lo and behold there were dozens of blaclk bin bags, shredded open.
I'm absolutely raging. I moved to a 'nice quiet area' where all my neighbours are absolute scumbags! The rest of the street is full of normal people!
Emailed the council straight away.
Just had to get that off my ample bosom. Ta.

"Easier to let the foxes get on with it
The foxes will be at the bins anyway. You don't really want to encourage either. "
We're surrounded by fields so the foxes are
Our bins are secure. |

I'm planning to hack away at least one of their nests at the weekend. We have a terrier but he's obviously too well fed |

A terrier that doesn't want to kill rats?! I've never met one of those....
I've got a little Patterdale terrier who loves nothing more than rat genocide....I had a JRT who was the same.
Does your dog not even sniff the nests? |

my new neighbour unwittingly started putting bread out for the birds but it attracted rats instead...they were getting the bread from his yard and hauling it under the fence to hide it in my yard....

Yeah he sniffs and marks them, and sniffs again.
Sometimes he stares meaningfully.
Once he actually set off to chase... ran about 12 steps and then trotted back.
He prefers cheese. |

I had a mate who had a JRT bitch (called "Mutley", not that it's important, I just like the name) who wouldn't chse rats until one day, he put her back in her kennel wherupon she found a rat eating out of her bowl.
She killed hundreds after that... |

I hope you have more joy with your council, than my friends had with ours! They weren't in the slightest bit interested! One time, they counted 6 rats in their garden! They had a massive nest under next doors pidgeon coop! |

Well working for a council myself who effectively oversee the local council I will kick some serious arse if they don't deal with it.
I'm still raging! |

Our cats used to bring live ones in from the farm just up the road to play with in the kitchen..
Trouble was sometimes they'd get away and the cats would lose interest & I'd have to get the rat..Not on my most favorite job list tbh.. We now have a bfo dog instead, no more rats..

I quite like rats, as it goes. Not the giant ones with red eyes, sharp teeth, tails like worms that go spreading Weils Disease, of course.
But rats are much more interesting pets than hamsters or gerbils. They're quite intelligent, can easily be taught tricks and be socialised.

I've no problem with disease-free, domesticated rodents. I have 6 rodents myself. But I have a massive problem with the type which spread disease.
