Your not alone.

I've been sick of Christmas ever since it appeared to start at the end of October. I wish it was the 27th of December already.

I appreciate that for most, it's a family time and all the bollocks that goes with it but it's lasting for over 2 months! For a holiday that is 2 days in length.

Total humbug here, fcuk santa, fcuk Christmas.

For every Christmas decorations that goes up before December 1st, an elf, somewhere, drowns a baby reindeer.

Keep Christmas to DECEMBER

Not gloomy- just apprehensive at the cost vs the value of it all to me.

The one thing I would like has no monetary value and I can't have it anyway!

Earliest Xmas decoration I saw at a house this year was October 21st. Silly. It doesn't make it special. It is only 2 days and 3 tons of sprouts!

i like christmas songs, even some hymns. we haven't celebrated christmas here for years apart from having a big meal on the day.

just don't see the point in buying things for the sake of it and i've decorated my house with loads of stuff i like already so don't need to put decorations up.

Not alone at all. Literally just text my friend saying I'm not putting my tree up this year.

I have lots of gifts to wrap and just cannot be arsed.

It just reminds me that my family dont bother.. and losing two close people ovwr the festive season and looking like another soon... I just hate it.

Growing up it was the time of year I was reminded although i always tried the hardest my little sister was favourite..

My kids now are only bothered about what presents and christmas day night is stupidly lonely.

If I didn't have a disabled daughter to look after Id go do something xmas like help out at a shelter. She doesnt do well with new places or I would say we would both go .. x as my other kids all go away x

May make some Christmas food hampers and drop them off with hats and scarves and gloves to some local homeless.. at least that's festive kinda x

i get where your coming from op i love seeing the joy and wonder in children's eyes at Christmas but its a time of sadness for me ,as nearly all my aunts and uncles are gone so is my stepdad these people and the family traditions that when along with them being alive I miss .

things like boxing day massive family parties with my aunts uncles and grandparents ,going down the pub Christmas day with my stepdad I miss the people not here, Christmas brings back memories of those great people so its tinged with sadness for me personally new year to for the same reason .

I don't celebrate Christmas, so it's not really something that bothers me anymore.

Having said that though, as a parent I don't want my children to miss out and so I do make sure that they have the Christmas experience whenever I have them over the festive period

What I do find a little funny though is that this time of year can be quite busy for me as the restaurant that I do DJing at hosts a number of works Christmas parties in the lead up to Christmas, so it can be a busy period for me.

I also used to find it quite funny when I was doing Wedding video shoots, as an Atheist, I didn't half spend a lot of time in church, lol

"for me it lost its appeal once me and the ex separated - the whole family time of year was lost so to me its just days to get through "

I'm spending mine with the ex and his new partner and my children this year.

I've been a bit down lately and not in my usual Christmas spirit. Christmas songs are depressing me, the thought of wrapping presents I'm not relishing. I've only had one pack of mince pies, and that was back in October.

I fucking love Christmas, my tree has been up nearly 3 weeks now, I just couldn't wait any longer.

I go overboard at Christmas I'll start my musical advent calendar tomorrow on facebook and generally annoy everyone until Christmas day, from the 12th onwards I'll wish people a merry Christmas as I say goodbye.

Now you might think I'm a bit of a prat, but when you were not allowed anything to do with Christmas as a child while all of your friends were enjoying theirs, it changes your perception so to those who want to hear it.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

I think this is awesome. Just because I'm a bit of a miserable twat this year doesn't mean I don't want other to enjoy it.

Last year I put my tree up 2nd week November as I was off to Florida until 1st Dec and wanted it up when I got back. However....the cats thought it was a new toy!!!

Putting aside all the commercial bollocks I quite enjoy Christmas these days.

The older I get the less time I spend with my family (siblings, parents etc) and Christmas is the one time of year we all get together. So a thumbs up for Christmas from me

We go away to the sun for Christmas now where Christmas doesn't have all the commercialism and bollocks. Its treated as a day for the family, meal together and the way it should be.

"For those of you that don't enjoy Christmas. Is there anything anyone on here can do to put a bit of sparkle back?

I just don't like to think of people not at least having a little happiness on the day when so many are xx"

It's not that I really hate it, it's just that Xmas Day is just me, Mum and Dad and we can get together anytime so it's not really anything special anymore.

Thank you for your concern though, it was very sweet.

This is really sweet.

For me I lost my granny just 2 months ago so it's going to be first without her. So I offered to work Christmas night. However my delightful boss put me on nights 24/25/26 so it's a pretty crappy time all round x"

Sorry for your loss.

I'm working right across Xmas but am happy to have the overtime and would rather I was at work than someone who's got children.

I don't like it at all, but I don't begrudge others unless they are ridiculously over the top about it.

It's been stretched out way too far though. I remember the time when my mild-mannered mum was appalled because neighbours had put their decorations up on the 1st December. Tacky and symbolic of the decline of standards in the U.K doing that!

"It just reminds me that my family dont bother.. and losing two close people ovwr the festive season and looking like another soon... I just hate it.

Growing up it was the time of year I was reminded although i always tried the hardest my little sister was favourite..

My kids now are only bothered about what presents and christmas day night is stupidly lonely. "

I don't have kids so once I am home from my parents. Or they have gone back home I am alone with just my cats.

So the last 2 years I have had a spontaneous meet to have some festive cheer of a different type

Think Christmas is great when you have kids watching their faces when they open presents is priceless... but alas my ex won't allow me contact so spending Christmas alone sucks. .. so thinking of throwing a Christmas day social for people in the same boat as me..well maybe a social with a difference full Christmas dinner social..

If I was rich, I might enjoy Christmas, but the last 2 years, ordered a Chinese takeaway Christmas eve, and warmed it up on Christmas day, having 2 teenage children who know santa doesn't exist, takes all the fun out of this pagan festival. ......bah humbug to the lot of ya

A world of my own

I'm the same. I put on the show for my boys and make sure they have a great time but I'm completely miserable.

Being told constantly to feel happy when you don't isn't much fun.

I'm lonely because the one person I want to see at xmas I can't.

Playing santa alone for the 8th year. Wrapping gifts and crying because it's not how I ever wanted things to be is now my xmas eve tradition when the kids go to bed.

Its exhausting. Its stressful and I can't wait until its all over.
