Just wanted to see what people's opinions are about age gaps in relationships or sexual encounter between men and women.
Would you date some one around the same age group as yourself or are you open to dating some one older or younger then you |

2 different questions there, imo:
Would I date someone (serious relationship) significantly older or younger than me - probably not.
Would I have sex with someone significantly older or younger than me - 3 or 4 years younger, 15-20 years older are my approximate limits, honed through experience. |

Of course if you find the right connection with someone, age is but a number. Provided of legal age.
But! Having said that anyone too much older or younger than me and I'd struggle to have similar interests / frames of reference to them and we'd have little in common.
For that reason ideally plus or minus 10 years is best for me (mid thirties to mid fifties).
My profile is plus and minus 14 years to allow for a bit of flexibility but my preference is for as close to my age as possible |

last guy i dated was 9 yrs younger than me. i did only hook up with him for sex initially.
i'd go for lower ages for sex than a relationship. wouldn't go much older for either i think. |

"I don't like age gaps. So I make sure they're born on the same day as me. Or it isn't happening.
It's a filter. "
I'm with you in this.
It's funny how many people were born the same day as me. I never can tell if they're being entirely honest with me. |

Lucky you.
I thought I'd have a 1 in 365 chance of finding somebody.
I've sent 365 messages out and not 1 has replied to say they are born on my birthday. Oh well. |

In theory I'd date someone of any age; it's the person and their attributes not the age that matters. When I meet someone in real life I don't ask their age before deciding if I'm interested, I just go on what I see and hear.
However, the reality is that the majority of people conform to certain generalisations reflective of their age. So the question is really whether you would consider investing time and effort in cultivating someone of a particular age group, knowing there is a high probability they will display characteristics you don't find attractive.
A lot of women on here have a cut off of age 49 in guys they will accept messages from. Now there are certainly some guys in their 50s in excellent shape (err hum) but frankly most are not. So why accept a lot of messages from guys where there is little chance of success?
It's the percentages game... |

Would i date someone significantly older? Apparently. Im not naturally attracted to guys who are much older. But some old bugger won me over with his charm, intelligence, sense of humour and kindness.
