I went to an event earlier in the year and they had a little table where you could pimp your prosecco so I've totally stolen their idea for our Christmas party.
I've spent the afternoon making syrups but what I'd like to know are your ideas for how you'd like to pimp yours...

I've got chambord, cherry brandy, sloe gin and raspberry gin for the boozy ones and I've made strawberry, lemon & ginger and elderflower. I also made a mulled wine syrup too. Adding a bottle of advocat I just need to get some fruit right? |

There are 11 in a jar for a tenner or 40 for 27 quid on Amazon... I'm not sure (given what I've already spent) that I want to splash that much. There are 90 people coming... 11 seems mean. |

"Is there an alternative for us lightweight non drinkers? "
Sparkling water or lemonade... with hibiscus flowers and elderflower cordial. It's not quite the same and I felt left out having it at J's birthday when everyone else had bubbles with Chambord.

"I've just found some candy canes so I'm boiling them down for a peppermint option. "
You're going syrup mad! Peppermint might be just a little wrong. I'd use the candy canes as swizzle sticks to give a hint of mint.

By the 11 for a tenner.... a 'hint of hibiscus flower' sounds good, large flowers so would still be visible |

"What are we thinking in terms of fruit?
Do you do fruit in Edinburgh?
Only at Christmas!
Strawberries
Raspberries
Lime
Blueberries
Mint?
Pomegranate
(Hibiscus if I stop being tight!)
"
Mango, blitzed. Don't go too mad as you don't want everyone thinking you're offering them healthy drinks.

Traditionally, yes. I've had other fruit and it works, as long as you don't use too much. It also means that those that don't want more alcohol added to their alcohol have more choices.
