I have recently rehomed a gorgeous cat 
She is lovely....everybody says how gorgeous she is. And very loud purring too
She is also a little bit crazy

We are a cat house. I do love them, but as a man I can see past the fluffy cuteness and adorable eyes and purring... Sorry where was I? Oh yeah I can see past this and realise that they are masters of manipulation and crafty fuckers.

I have holiday duties for 3 cats that different neighbours have - one of them comes every day, needing to curl up and be petted. I'd love my own cat again but spending months outside of the UK each year would put a big burden on other people as well as being perhaps a little unfair to the cat. My old cat, who was poisoned (not by me ) did enjoy having two homes, popping to parents when I was away but I'm not sure about having another and expecting the same.
But, fluff, playful kittens are gorgeous. |

Most breeders will insist they are indoor cats. They're too trusting and unaware of danger to be safe outside alone.
I have two and they're happy as indoor cats. They get supervised outside time in summer because I have a fully enclosed garden, but I don't leave them out by themselves. |

My older cat has officially moved out
He was a rescue at 2 and had him 6 years now. Every summer he goes on his travels and rarely comes back when it's warm but he's still not coming back much now even though it's gone cold. Part of it is the new kitten but also another woman round the corner has been keeping him in and he's now effectively living there.
She's assured me she never leaves him in when she goes out but just went round there now to say oi I want my cat back and she's out...and he's sat in the window looking non plussed. Says it's all!
You don't own cats so it's up to him butbshe might think twice when it's time to go back to the vets. He goes 3 times a year as he has severe allergies and it costs a fortune. I'll give her that good news and see if she is less inclined to keep him locked in  |

I've never been without at least one black cat since I was 19, and sometimes up to four at a time! Like you say, for some reason they tend be the least popular colour when it comes to rehoming which is so sad as I think they're great (who cares about the witch association?!) The cat home close to us often makes a thing of this around Halloween time to publicise the black cats needing homes, and that's usually quite successful but invariably at other times the majority of cats there are either black, or black and white. We usually have one ginger cat too, although we have two of those at the moment and just one black one (but are hoping to get two black kittens soon ) |

I have 3, and a dog. They rule the roost.
I have a Siamese seal point with blue eyes, and a pedigree as long as your arm, who is a raptor with birds but soft as with my little girl. Thinks she is a dog and tries to come for walks too.
Then 2 ginger boy mogs who are brothers- rescued together- got the runt and the bruiser! One weighs 8kgs and the other 5kgs. The big guy is gregarious but the body guard of the feline family and his baby bro is more timid but incredibly loyal when he decides he likes you!
Love my cats. But I am a dog lovers too. Maybe just an animal lovers actually- a lot of the time I prefer them to humans!

My two black cats have completly different faces, but are both petite and unless you can see the face you dont know which is which. When they sit together its like your seeing double.

I have a ragdoll cat and they are the most liveable cats ever

Good point.....
You should always have 2 cats, particularly if you are out all day, particularly if they are Raggies.

Most moggies are perfectly fine as solo cats in my experience. Mine is much happier now it's just him. Never had pedigree so I bow to superior knowledge of them |

Most moggies are perfectly fine as solo cats in my experience. Mine is much happier now it's just him. Never had pedigree so I bow to superior knowledge of them "
Moggies and pedigrees are quite different, Ragdolls in particular.
I used to do a lot of work with a Ragdoll rehome group.
A lot of the raggies we'd see distressed were where they were on their own.
