Just paid a home visit to a client to discuss menu plan for next week and he has a couple of dogs that absolutely stunk the flat out I mean real stench.
Aren't people supposed to shampoo and wash dogs.?
Do dog owners on here wash thiers or become oblivious to the smell over time.?

As with most topics some do and some don't
I was in a pub a few weeks ago and a guy brought a spaniel in that had been in the river I would guess and omg it was a vile smell.

Most dogs smell to some extent. When I've been house hunting you can tell the second you get through the door that they have a dog.
(I'm sure people say the same about cats, but I'm nose blind to that.) |

It's a bit like a smoker becoming oblivious to the smell of smoke, pet owners become so used to the smell that they often don't realise.
When I (mrs) had a dog which was a working dog so washing it everyday was impossible as it always came home muddy from the fields etc and I have to say I only noticed it when it became really bad |

My dog is bathed and pampered every 4-6 weeks at the groomers but I shower her at home if we've been out on a muddy walk or anything. She also has her face and feet washed every day, and bedding washed every few days. I like to think she's lovely and clean but I'm sure non dog owning visitors would still be able to smell her..... and her farts |

My dog has the worst farts. Honestly if you think wet dog smell is bad... you haven't smelled anything.
Eye watering. Room clearing.
She's a bloody amazing dog, but omg a nightmare for stinking out my house.
When she was a puppy, I used to have clients for my business over to my house.
One day, minutes before a client was due to arrive so the place looked immaculate, she did a massive poo in the hallway.
I ran to get something to clear up the mess, and came back to her eating the poo. Theb she promptly threw it back up.
Dog shit and dog sick makes for an interesting combination.

Lmao. That's just what mine would do. They're clean, but one of them facts so bad, and he's fed exactly the same. Just one of those things we have to put up with lol.

I used to groom my pooch on a regular basis including a bath & washing his bedding.
Like anything you live with, you do become a little oblivious to every day odours. |
