I was lucky enough to go to a festival last month that headlined;
The Rolling Stones
The Who
Pink Floyd
Paul McCartney
Neal Young
Bob Dylan
I honestly don't think I'll ever see such a great line up and great performances again as long as I live

I've seen Dylan - he was shit. The Rotting Stones can still do a bloody good set. Neal Young, ditto. Not fussed by The Whom. |

Frank Turner I've seen in a church hall, at Wembley and everything in between those extremes and every time he's been amazing.
Skinny Lister are the best 'new' live band I've seen in years.
Carter USM I spent 25 years watching and they never disappointed
Joe Strummer was awesome the times I saw him, I just wish I'd been old enough to have seen The Clash. Same applies to Morrissey and The Smiths.
On a good day Jane's Addiction were amazing, Shame the bad gigs outnumber them.

Pink Floyd? Really?
Haven't seen that many live gigs but David Gilmour last month was brilliant.

Slightly biased as I'm still buzzing from seeing them tuesday night - black stone cherry. Vocally the best I've seen live
I also love meat loaf live ....apart from when he collapsed at Wembley, that was definitely not cool. |

David Bowie - totally electrifying.
Suede - Swagger and pomp but fun.
Brand New Heavies ( with N'dea Davenport fronting) cracking.
The Smiths - Chaos , but almost a religious experience.
Sisters of Mercy - aggression, power and trance-like.

Lady Gaga - wasn't a huge fan but figured she'd be one I'd regret if I didn't see her live when I had the chance and she was amazing. Mad as a box of frogs but massive talent, puts on a great show and really appreciates it's the fans that got her there |

Best vocalists/live performances i have seen are:
David Bowie on the Ziggy Stardust tour in early 70s.
Linda Ronstadt 1976
Ann Wilson & her Band Heart Brigade Tour 1990.
Roger Daltrey.The Who 1966.

There and to the left a bit |
For real knock your socks off and make you go WOW at the whole experience Muse will take a lot of beating...although arguably U2 can do that too.
For sheer unbridled fun and a band that I've seen 50+ times...Madness still have it!!
For a pure nostalgia kick on my part..The Specials (before their numbers dwindled completely) and The Beat (Dave Wakeling) version always make me want to dance
Kasabian earlier this year were brilliant....and currently in Dublin looking forward to seeing Biffy Clyro on Saturday |

Simply red / Mick Hucknall. The way he can change the lyrics to a song depending on where he is performing is quality.
Daryl Hall and John Oates. Great vocals.
Pink. Amazing shows from start to finish. |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |
Have enjoyed
Muse
Prince
Thunder
Springsteen
Alice Cooper
But the best two were
The Rolling Stones at Twickenham in 2004
Madness at Wembley Arena in 1994 - their first comeback tour, and they were brilliant.
Worst - Elton John. Great songs, zero showmanship. |

Without a doubt it was Van Halen with David Lee Roth back in the early eighties. No one could come remotely close.
They were great with Sammy Hagar too.
Sadly, they're shit now and I wouldn't pay to see them in my local pub. |

I'd agree with that, I've no idea how many times I've seen them over the last 28 years (probably approaching triple figures) and can only remember 1 bad gig |

My name in here is there for a specific reason and I've seen so many live performances over the past 50 years and many soring to mind for various reasons
The ultimate live performer EVER was Freddie Mercury and to see him live was the greatest musical event ever
Have been lucky to see Michael Jackson live at Hampden Park
David Bowie love him or loathe him but he is good live
Springsteen and the E Street Band before they all started dying off.
Floyd with Walters and Gilmour together
The Quo in the old Glasgow Apollo as mentioned was electrifying
Thin Lizzy at the same venue
Whitesnake at Donington 1990 Monsters of Rock supported by Aerosmith, Poison, Thunder and Qireboys
These are just a few off the top of my head
