Booths are fantastic as are Fortnum and Mason's. It depends on what type (with/out alcohol, rich, nuts) and budget.

I just want to steal the marzipan. And maybe a bit of icing if it's proper "need a chisel to get into" Royal icing and not that fondant rubbish.

My Nan makes one for all her grandchildren every year. Still doing it at the age of 87 and you can't beat them.

From a shop though, Marks and Spencer or Waitrose.

Every year an elderly jamaican lady makes my christmas cake,its excellent full of rum,so i would suggest Jamaica

I'm wondering what Aldi or Lidl cakes are like ...they look amazing on the outside. ..ive had Iceland before and that was yummy ...too many to choose from to be honest

Yes we use M & S as their cakes are great, we get the slap cakes that are iced for wedding cake tiers etc.

I think you get 18 portions & it cost about £16, we have to order it from their books (pick up from shop) as they are not sold instore.

dont get tescos my wedding cake was from there and when we tried to cut it we couldnt get through the icing!! much to everyones amusement till we reminded them they were going to be eating it lol

I do prefer fondant icing. ..and said Christmas cake probably won't get eaten til February! !
