Thanks JustJo

Can anyone else here lucid dream?

I can. It's rare. But when I do, the feeling is quite great.

I've I my been able to do this on request a few times.

Can anyone do this when they want to?

"I always get what I want in my dreams, does that count?"

Do you mean, you think about what you want to dream about before closing your eyes and it happens?

Or, during your dream. You take control, and then you get what you want?

I'm not that special ....

I go to sleep when I'm tired ,then I wake-up, and I want no control over what goes on in the dreams in-between because that would make each waking moment too cruel ....

Yes. It is cruel in a way. I've never thought of it like that.

Although I can lucid dream. I can't control the length of time. When it ends, It feels like im being dragged somewhere I don't want to go.

Off the grid

I started teaching myself to lucid dream and did it a few times.

Then I started having this thing where I woke up, realised I'd lucid dreamed, and got up to tell my housemates I'd done it, and as I walked out my room I had a overwhelmingly terrifying feeling something bad was about to happen. I panicked..

And then I woke up. And still freaked or a bit, I'd get up to go tell my housemates what had just happened, go to walk out the room and get an overwhelmingly terrifying feeling something bad was about to happen. I panicked...

And woke up. Went to tell my housemates what had happened...

Etc etc.

I got stuck in that loop of thinking I had woken up but hadn't maybe 10-15 times? I couldn't get out. I tried forcing myself awake. Thought I was awake, get up and the same thing would happen.

Finally I did wake up and it was dark, not daytime and I just lay there and thought "fuck".

Getting stuck in this loop happened for several nights, so I dropped my attempts at lucid dreaming and it stopped. Hasn't happened since and that was almost 20 years ago.

I'm not messing with my dreams again.

Wow.

I only 'dreamt I woke up ' once.

When I finally woke it was surreal. I hated the feeling in my gut. Like a doomed feeling.

Your loop sounds scary if you then tried to wake and couldn't.

I had a period where this happened to me but I wasn't trying to lucid dream. It happened so much it got to the point I didn't know whether I was in a dream or reality. Very freaky and glad it stopped.

It's horrible isn't it because you have no control over it, but you remember each time and get more and more scared about how you're going to get out.

Like that film Groundhog Day, but creepier.

Ooooo that would make a good horror film. lol

Ooh. When you have to pinch yourself to confirm your awake. Haha. Literally.

I've had that too. I sometimes think I'll go insane one day.
