"Is it that much faster than 3G, and is it consistently faster....or only if your standing next to a mast ?"
Massively faster. Whenever you can get it.
Up here any data can be patchy though. |

It can vary - just done a speed test at my 4G at the mo is about 1.5mb down and 11 up.
Switching back to Virgin fibre over Wifi and it's 66mb down and 5 up.
For web surfing and nosing around fab it seems just as quick on 4G as on Wifi. |

Faster connectivity assuming the provider has enough bandwidth as it's contended..think of it as a pipe..one person one water flows quickly..lots on then only so much you can do..some areas upgraded the mast but only have a limited bandwidth behind it..so 3G is often just as fast |

"4G is mutch faster than 3G
And its easy to get.
Not meney places I can think of wear 4G don't work.
"
Try up here mate!
In a large part of the north east 3G is but a dream, on the A1 near the Angel of the North and other places and also on parts of the east coast mainline you can't even get phone service!
And these are important main routes. |
