Love the excitement of the build up and the looks on the faces of my daughters as they open their presents and tuck into Christmas dinner.
If it wasn't for them id be in the bah humbug camp |

I enjoy xmas but only because its one of the only times when the whole family gets together. If only it was a couple of weeks before that we had to put up with xmas songs and decorations rather than months it would make it alot better |

To con,t
Wonder if some city centres, retailers are actually missing a trick.
Idea of coordining a section of shopping exclusively Xmas free... For humbugs like me..and those who are closet humbugs..
Oddly having a " Xmas free zone" as an option would I feel increase footfall .... |

Me personally I love it. The Xmas jumper, being with family And all the presents I get to buy. Yes it can be expensive but worth it to see smiles on faces. |

I'm not a big fan.
I hate all the fuss.
Saying that, this year, I may go and spend the day at my parents house after spending Christmas Day on my own for the last few years.

Generally love it but this year I'm having a completely different one to the ones I've had before!
Ads and I have our first Christmas together (spent last year apart), we have all our children together, he has never had his on Christmas morning and obviously my kids have only had Christmas with me and their dad so that might be one to look out for on the day
Then Boxing Day we have a house full which I've never experienced before!

Pfft, you can't be a grumpy old man at 34, you're not even a quarter of the way through your adult life!
I love it, but I tend to let it wash over me until Dec 1st. I do admit to a vague sense of disquiet about the fact that the sentiment should extend past just one day though.
Peace & Goodwill

"Love it,but makes me feel sad at the same time. I like it when it's over though, mixed feelings."
Same here. It's nice to spend time with loved ones, but it's also a sad reminder of those no longer around. It gets worse each year. |

Love it so much. Best time of the year. The family, the parties, the lights, the tree and of course, the fluffy socks gift on Christmas Day.

I find it depressing...but mostly because I don't have my girl...at most I get her for a couple of days between Christmas and new year. So the big day is generally a bit of a damp squib and by the time I get to open presents with her the shine has gone.. |

Hate is too strong a word for how I feel about Christmas, it's just not a fun time of year for either of us really, different when the kids were little. Far too commercialised now days |

Why don't you and your ex do alternate Christmases with your daughter? |

What's not to like, the Christmas songs, Santa driving along Hove sea front in an open topped bus, seeing the Christmas decorations on people's houses, seeing the look on families faces when they open their present and laughing at your work mate when they open their secret santa, wondering which bastard got them the sugar dummy. |

I used to find excuses to work (with horses- it's not difficult) until I became a mum. Really looking forward to this one- my daughter will be nearly 4.

I like Christmas but not a much as I used to.
I avoid the hype, have a very short list of people to buy gifts for and we don't spend hundreds on food etc.
I feel the best thing is to celebrate the holiday as you want to because it seems to me that its about as far away from Christ mass as it can be mostly. |

Can't stand it. I wish everyone a jolly one, but it's really hard when you're a single mum working in retail.
My son goes to his dad's the day after he breaks up from school and returns the day before he goes back to school, so my tree has remained in the loft for the last 4 yrs.
I work in a restaurant and find myself getting a little jealous at times of the families spending quality time together. I see my family twice a year if I'm lucky. When I'm getting that jealous twinge, I tell myself there's a chance this is their "once a year" and it grounds me again.
It might sound like I don't care about my son as I don't see him over Xmas, when in fact it's the complete opposite. I know he loves and enjoys spending time at his dad's, seeing all the relatives and having a whale of a time, and that's the best gift I can give him....I mean, having him sitting round here on his own waiting for me to come home from work exhausted really isn't fun. |

I really hate it being forced upon us. I just think its sad that people get all excited for one day of the year when there are 364 other days. Yes, its nice to meet up with family and friends on your days off and yes, its magical for the kids. But as an adult I am so glad when boxing day arrives. Prefer New years eve/day. Unfortunately Im working it this time round |
