Ah balls i was telling my son how his grandad was holding him as a 1 day old baby, giving him a lecture about being a good boy as a teenager

My dad was telling him to look after your mum, and nor to be going out drinking and fighting and it doesn't matter what he does just to do his best at what ever it was..

My son wasn't even 24hrs old and my dad was bed ridden he was termanily ill with cancer but my dad still came to the hospital to see his first grandson...

My dad wouldn't even go in a wheelchair, he walked all the way to the maternity ward !!

Balls !!

Getting it bad tonight !!

DAD IM SO PROUD OF YOU THAT YOU CAME AND HELD YOUR GRANDSON IN HOSPITAL !!

I LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU SO MUCH !

I shed a little tear reading that, you should be proud that one of your dads last memories is a special one

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

What is triggering the feelings of loss so many years later?

It's fine to feel sad and to miss him. Don't beat yourself up.

I think just telling my son about his grandad, my son was just 7 weeks old when his grandad died...

Tonight I was telling my son about personal things about his grandad how how when his grandad was so ill how much he was loved by his grandad

It was very hard emotionally for my son and myself
